It could be a hassle to correct every mistake. They're easy to make. So if anything goes uncorrected, we'll look at it as a blown call. They happen. Anyway, the more the list gets whittled down towards the worst ten and then the winner (loser?), mistakes will become more rare. To make things easier, I'll copy and paste the current vote tally from the previous page.

Marge Schott (20)
Kobe Bryant (14)
Rae Carruth (28)
Elizabeth Lambert (14)
Mike Tyson (54)
Ty Cobb (34)
Ulf Samuelsson (42)
John Rocker (24)
Woody Hayes (0)
Bobby Knight (32)
OJ Simpson (30)
Tonya Harding (22)
Rosie Ruiz (10)
David Stern (38)
Isiah Thomas (20)
Tim Donaghy (40)
George Steinbrenner (16)

See!  Somebody else agrees with me that A-Rod belongs on the list.

A-Fraud could have been included. I concede that. In his defense, I believe he saved a local kid's life while visiting the Boston area.

As for Jose Canseco, I don't think he's a villain. Or else a big percentage of baseball players from the steroid era should also be on the list. Most thought Jose was making stuff up about other players to save his own skin. It turned out for the most part Canseco was telling the truth.

I see him more as a whistle blower.

...tried to run down his wife in Miami, probably on steroids at the time...

If you believe one word he says, don't you have to believe Tim Donaghy, too?

I wouldn't want Jose Canseco babysitting, but no way is he comparable to Tim Donaghy as an informer. Donaghy has been involved with racketeering. Canseco's steroid use was something else. Jose might be somewhat of a villain, but please keep this in perspective.

I'm unaware of "informer" Donaghy actually producing anything substantial like Jose did for whistleblowing stats. We all know the 2002 NBA playoff games were rigged. Has Donaghy supplied any evidence of that other than unsubstantiated words out of his ratmouth?

The biggest villain of them all may indeed be Celtics Blog for its despicable treatment of Dave Cowens. I read about that on another thread. Instead of facing the charges, the thread was locked.  ;D

Hey!  I voted for Dave Cowens!  It may be because I am a female that I find trying to run your wife down with a car is most despicable?    ;)

Wicked awesome that you're female. It shouldn't matter, but I like it.

I need more details on this allegation Jose tried to run over his wife. Could it have possibly been more like he was trying to give her fender a small bump? Wasn't she in a car too? That would be different than how you make it sound. I plead ignorance on this story.

I'm a bit too young to have a serious opinion on Dave Cowens. I just noticed another Celtics Blog member was taking things way too seriously with that vote. I respect his opinion Cowens is #3 of all-time great C's. From my perspective, it might be McHale. If he'd been on any other team, he would have put up monster stats. Sure Bird fed him the ball pretty good. But I also remember Bird just had to score 60 right after Kev went for 56 to put him in his place.

Paul Pierce might also be another victim of being the right guy at the wrong time. If he'd been on those 60's teams, he might have been the #1 scorer and thus be up there with Russ and Bird for legacy. But that might be akin to saying Michael J. Fox was one of the all time great guitarists in Back to the Future, because he had that time machine car. Fantasy talk can be fun. But it's still fantasy.

Bonds got voted off the island. I was for that, because he seems to be taking too much of the blame for the steroid era. It's not his fault they worked to his advantage better than anyone else.

Oh come on. Who hasn't tried to run their wife down in the family car?
