Let's just hope Rondo doesn't develop a phobia against winning another championship--and having to go visit the White House again.

Its like this - Consider someone who might be very obese who has worked very hard losing weight. They may even lose over 100lbs and still be very large. Now someone comes along who might not know this and suggest they need to work on losing weight. Can you imagine how hurtful that would be after all the work they've done that the other person doesn't know about?
It's not about how you feel, it's about how you react.  Rondo doesn't seem the type to me to cry in a corner while cradling a pint of Häagen-Dazs because someone made fun of him; that's something I'd expect out of BBD.  Rondo seems the stubborn type, that will go into "up yours" mode and show you exactly what he can do.

Right?  Tell someone that they won't amount to anything.  It's up to them whether this fills them with despair, or whether it fills them with purpose.

I actually trust KG and Shaq to have a better read on how Rondo reacts to this stuff.

I totally agree with you; I believe that myself.

My statement though was in the context of someone being told they should try to work at something when they already have been working very hard.

Even someone filled with purpose and the right attitude can feel crushed if its assumed they haven't done anything despite giving it everything they have.

Apparently, right after this Obama turned to Baby and said "And why can't Ray give YOU a few tips on proper diet? You've gotta make sure you're not overweight for the playoffs!"

He also sent Shaq a text reminding him to pay attention to his rehab.

He would have had to had a jumper for it to be destroyed.   I think he never had a jumper to begin with.  Rondo needs to fix this weakness, Jason Kidd could not shoot when he came into the league, so there is hope.

Yeah....Maybe Baby should smoke a pack of cigarettes and live in a "food desert"

This is clearly the cause of his shooting slump, the fact that he had a hand injury last spring is merely a coincidence.

He is a Bulls fan, sadly he should have picked on LeBron this year  :(.

Obama told Wade to teach Lebron how to finish 4th quarters

Just my opinion, but I seriously doubt that Rondo took what President Obama said to heart.

If he did, then Rajon certainly didn't let the comment affect the rest of his game - just ask NY about Rondo's play during the playoffs.

Ask MIA, too, until the unfortunate incident occured.

yeh, im confident to say, if Rondo wasn't injured, that Bos-Mia series will totally be different, not saying we will win, but just different.

Seriously though, imagine if Rondo were actually this sensitive, how tough it must be to coach him.. I haven't been able to stop thinking about Docs comments toward the end of the season about the team playing as selfishly as he's ever seen

http://www.masslive.com/celtics/index.ssf/2011/03/celtics_coach_doc_rivers_calls.html

Clearly he was upset and trying to motivate someone or someone(s). I think the Perk trade messed with Rondo more than anything but who knows, maybe this did too...
