Cuz you have TV. Jerk. You're like the guy who buys all the land around the Oasis and then turns innocently to the crowd of thirsty people behind him and asks, "Oh, did you guys need something?"

I gotta say, personally, that I *hate* watching TV's at bars/pubs. I go to hang out with friends, make jokes, hear music, get drunk.

I guess if its a really big game that I have no rooting interest in it's sometimes fun to watch at a bar w/ other folks.

But Celtics games? I'd rather hear the announcers (hopefully Tommy/Mike) at home where i can yell, scream, thrwo things, pound the couch, etc.

I tend to agree - I like the intimacy of watching at home with the wife and maybe a couple friends.  More than that and I just want everyone to shut up so I can pay attention.

On the other hand, though, I had no TV for the Finals this year (just moved) and I had a great time going out to bars in the new town and rooting for the Mavs.  Different story if the Cs were playing though.

I can appreciate this. I go to the bar mostly when it's games I don't care as much about, or if its PPV fights. If it's a key Pats/Celtics/Sox/Bruins/Commodores game, I'm usually at home, mostly because I don't want to annoy others with my out of place yelling (I am near none of these teams now) and also because I don't want to eat a bag of crap if my team loses. Although sometimes I need to go to a bar just to find these games on TV, so there's that.

That's not a steadfast rule, but I do tend to crack a beer at home for things such as the EC Finals or the like.

CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

I prefer to watch any game I have an invested interest at home, even if that's a western conference playoff series I'm just really into.

BUT, it's always nice to have a TV in the bar, particularly if you're just going out with 1 or 2 buddies.

I did watch almost every game of the 07 Finals at Greatest Bar, which was really, really awesome, and about as close to a stadium-experience as you could wish for (that place went nuts).

But I don't think I could watch a deciding game anywhere but home.

Love the Jack White/White Stripes pick. That's definitely something I think of when I think "bar band."

Are Neil Young and Tom Waits playing the same establishment? Man, there's going to be a lot of drinking going on in there.

Unless i'm going to watch a particular game, I prefer NOT to have a TV... just too distracting to have Sportscenter on w/o sound, or junky other TV.

I just think this knocks that bar down out of the playoffs b/c of my own personal tastes  ;D ;D

sorry if i missed the ruling the other day....

our entertainers have to be living/active right?

(I realize a bit of latitude was extended for the Stripes, which i'm fine with -- just making sure b/c I was thinking of drafting ______ then realized he was dead).

Entertainers have to be alive, and you're getting the 2011 version of them.

Cool..... I was gonna have as one of my performers:

But will go in another direction...RIP Mitch.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Count me in the "Pro-TV" crowd.

Even when you're with your buddies, looking up to get sports scores, top-10 plays, or watch a game are welcome distractions.

Ya can't talk all the time..I mean, what are we, women?
