  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
How many hits does WIlson Phillips have?

Would it help my bar, if I just have Wilson Phillips play 'Hold On' on repeat from 10am until 3pm to help keep the day drinkers positive?

I think GC should be able to make another pick but I think it is understandable for everyone to miss it...a Tanqueray and Tonic it technically a drink (like a Margarita) and gin is a liquor (like tequilla)...really this is no different than Lucky choosing Margaritas in round one and then FWF choosing tequilla in round two.

I think the problem is that GC didn't pick "Gin", he picked "Gin & Tonics".  Gin would've been ok, but Tanqueray and Tonic ruled out the Gin & Tonic category.

It's a little different than Lucky and FWF.  If GC had taken just gin it would of been ok.  But who drinks gin straight up?  Our situation would be like if Lucky had patron margaritas and FWF selected cuervo margaritas.

"Kentucky Mean", aka bourbon, begs to differ.

I'm not crazy about the Avett Brothers, but there's something about them that makes it feel like the right pick for GC's bar.

I was lucky to see them before they broke out in several small clubs. I think that helped make me crazy about them --- as intense as any punk band I've seen and as beautiful as any songs I've heard live.

Our wedding invite CD (yes our wedding invite was a mix CD -- fun idea but more expensive than you'd think) had 2 of their songs on it.

I've had a few friends do the wedding invite CD thing and it's a pretty cool idea.  Did you and the wifey pick out the songs yourselves or did the wedding party pick songs that made them think of the two of you...I've seen both done.

We picked out the songs --- which went fairly smoothly. For the most part, they were songs of bands we'd seen together over the last few years (Avett Brothers, Cheap Girls, Bridge & Tunnel, Chuck Ragan), or CDs we'd got together (She & Him, Rocky Votolato) and one track that I just thought would be awesome as a personal ode to me: Weird Al Yankovic's "White & Nerdy".

And with us both being graphic designers, we designed a case and had them screen-printed:
