Danny Granger is going to struggle mightily against G.Wallace's defense.

You know, logically this makes sense, but historically in their careers Granger has done fine against Wallace.  He's averaging 20 ppg on 48.3% shooting (and 42.5% 3PT shooting), and has only averaged 1.9 turnovers.

I give Washington the slight edge in this matchup, and a fairly large edge with Aldridge.  It's going to come down to the backcourt mismatch, in my eyes, and to what degree Washington can mitigate it.
I wonder how much of that time Wallace was on Granger because Who is right, historically strong defenders with length give Granger trouble and push him out of his comfort zone.  Look at how many long 2s he was forced into in the Miami series.

Miami series?

They played the Bulls.
That's what I meant.

He raised his shooting % from .425 to .478 in the playoffs while raising his assists from 2.6 to 3.2 and downing his turnovers from 2.6 to 1.4

Defensively, he got Dengs shooting % to drop from .460 to .411

Did you respond to my question about your gameplan for this series? I didn't see anything specific in your write up, did I miss it.

Which one of us?

Kinda lazily touched upon it here, Faf.

What's your strategy for attacking the Celtics defense?

Start from the inside out: Hope to cause foul trouble to their bigs in foul trouble b/c I think they lack depth there.

Past that, I'd look to keep Gay and Z-Bo on the same side of the court. Preferably with Z Bo working the high post to create maximum space for Gay on the wing against Turkoglu, who quite frankly, shouldn't be able to stay on the court.

Way # 7: Rudy Gay vs. Hedo Turkoglu

The same Rudy Gay who has been to ever score more than 20 pts per is going to take over a series?

Depending on how much you use Hedo Turkoglu, yes.

If you're gonna run Isos for Gay with ZBO as his dump, I have no problem leaving Turk on him because it would allow Horford to help pretty easily as Gay isn't a tremendous passer.

But he was taking it in less, he was getting to the line less, and wasn't doing great in the clutch when the Pacers really needed him.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I wouldn't consistently run iso's, again, we want to stay committed to working inside - out.

Working Z Bo out of the high post could give us a few other looks, pick and rolls, and draws out Horford more. Leaving Monroe, who I don't think is nearly the defender youv'e described, down low against Marc.

wizards and bulls, in 3 relatively short bullet points: why do you win this series?

Monroe by this time next year is going to be one of the best post defenders in the league. Notin a Perkensian way, but more like Sheed in his prime, smart as heck and able to pull of 1.5+ steals and blocks a game.

This could be a team that could give the Sixers some trouble with the zone.
Please not this again.

What roll will Tony Park/Gay have in the offense then if it features Z-Bo and Gasol?

Do you think the CB Draft Bulls have a similar level of team defense?

I'm not so sure, this is a tough one for me.

Magic might have the better PG, but the 76ers are much better at every other position.  Orlando doesn't have the defense to make it into the second round.  Beasley seems to be playing 28 minutes a night at PF, and David West will embarrass him for 28 of those minutes.  Maggette will have to take one of Wade or Iguodala, neither of which he could guard in his dreams.

Jason Richardson was disappointing in Orlando, Maggette was beyond disappointing in Milwaukee, and CP3 had a sub-par year after his injury last season.

Basically Chris Paul will probably go off and win a game by himself, but that's their only chance of winning one.

Maggette out of MIL will do a lot better, especially since he will be paired with a real PG who can get him his shots. Same goes for JRich who for some reason did better in PHX then ORL (better PG's?) Despite the weak front court of the Magic, a backup guard can match Philly's PG, CP3 or Roy on Wade, Barnes on Iggy, Bass on West more then Beasley on West, and center spots kind equal out.

While I get branded as the CP3 team with a weak front court and lacking defense, I believe I have one of the most solid bench mobs in the league. Already one of the best overall bakcourts here, having guys like barnes and bass and birdman as defensive stoppers (not starter minutes) in the front helps out our scorers in those spots (Maggette, Beasley, and McGee, Wilcox too). WHile your starters may outscore mine, I can send in a better bench crew of stoppers to slow your stars and get them winded and missing shots. And as you go to your bench crew, I can send my scorers and more athletic guys to pick up the pace.

Magic in 7
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.
