What is this nonsense about having to back up statements made in a CB draft?

FWIW, Garnett at C is still a bad fit next to Griffin.

Can we all agree that in hindsight Utah Sweeps Portland now? LOL

I am making it known now I want to be in the 2012 CB League. I also want to be in the same division as IP.

That Pawnee Pacers team was absolutely stacked.

As for my Bulls, I think we'd have finished about where we were: 4th/5th in the East. With JR Smith in China for most of the season, Gordon Hayward would have ably backed up Jason Terry at SG and Wallace at SF in a 6th-man role.

I got nothing from Travis Outlaw or Anthony Randolph this year, but Jason Thompson would have stepped up nicely ahead of Haslem as the starting PF next to Noah. Add a resurgent Al Harrington off the bench in a scoring role as a stretch 4/5.

PG: Steve Nash / Beno Udrih
SG: JR Smith / Jason Terry
SF: Gerald Wallace / Travis Outlaw / Gordon Hayward
PF: Udonis Haslem / Jason Thompson / Al Harrington
C:  Joakim Noah / Zaza Pachulia / Anthony Randolph

Should start Hayward, with Terry as soupah sub.

Why?
Because what Blake Griffin really needs isn't a mobile defensive anchor with length to protect the rim, intelligence in guiding a defense, a willing interior passer, and jump shooting range for spacing.

Instead he needs is a.........wait a minute.......

WD put together another excellent squad.

So deep, he could afford to replace starters Ray Felton and Landry Fields with Goran Dragic and Delonte West (when healthy).

Terrific frontcourt with LMA, Gortatertot, Ryan Anderson, and Kanter. Cagey Battier off the bench.

He has all that-- not at garnett's level but still-- in Kenyon Martin and he's still a lousy defender and underdeveloped offensively.

What Garnett needs to succeed as a Center offensively is a another big who can stretch the floor so that when he does go into the post, the other team can't risk a double team. You can double way too easily off Griffin.

TP. KG might be the perfect fit next to him. You should have added 'Brilliant' before "willing interior passer."

Not really. He can just roll to the hoop and you hit him with a lob.

Kenyon Martin isn't any of those things, he's not a good jump shooter (despite his game 7), rebounder, or rim protector anymore. He's a scrappy bench big, no comparison.

Your thinking is completely inverted anyways if you had Blake Griffin and KG together you don't worry about Griffin impacting KG's offense, instead you use KG to enhance Griffin who is a much more dynamic offensive player at this point in their respective careers.

Doubling KG is a losing proposition in the post anyways, he's too long, too willing a passer, and too skilled a passer for it to work for long stretches.

Good team but I don't see Aldridge as that guy yet who can dominate the last two minutes of playoff games. Battier is very overrated at this point. I love Dragic, but Delonte did nothing to make me think he isn't still very undependable.

Did you watch the Memphis/LAC series? Martin's defense was a huge part of why the Clips won. His range as a defender was impressive, as well as his ability to cover not just either ZBO or Gasol but to also match up with Rudy.

Meanwhile, it's your thinking that's inverted if you think that a team should be worried about KG enhancing Griffin's offense even though it would hurt his own. KG right now is far and away the better offensive player and a team would be better off surrounding him with players that would allow him to thrive against one-on-one coverage rather than clog things up for him.
