I've been having this idea about a buy in value draft.
Each teams starts with $60,000 to build their team through a draft. Draft determined by lottery and is snaked. All current players in the NBA are available and have values:
If a player has:
Been an All-NBA player in the last 5 years they are valued at $10,000
Been an All-Star or All-Defense player in the last 5 years they are valued at $8,000
Averaged more than 20 PPG, or 10 RPG, or 2 BPG or 2 SPG and haven't been any of the above(All-NBA, All-Star, All-Defense) in the last 5 years they are valued at $6,000
Averaged more than 50 games started for at least 3 of the last 5 years and are none of the above they are valued at $4000
Played in more than 50 games per year for at least 3 of the past 5 years and are none of the above they are valued at $2000
All other vets are valued at $1000
Is a rookie draft top 5 $5000, 6-10 $2500, 11-20 $1500 later than 20 or undrafted $1000
So the goal is to draft and build a team while being under a budget. Have no idea how trades would work. Maybe no trades so it makes commissioner work minimal.
Anyway, just an idea.
