  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
The Boston Celtics select a very good defender, team player and terrific 3 point shooter:

James Jones

'Very Good Defender' is a bit of a stretch for James Jones. Still like the pick though.

Good man to man defender and terrific at drawing charges.

I actually thought Beasley at the 4 and even occasional 3 was going to be a good fit with Nash.
Yeah, I was a big fan of Beasley + Nash + J.Noah.

I thought that was a winning combination.

I don't think Michael Beasley is ever part of a winning combination.

Perhaps I was swayed by the vocal minority (?) that Beasley at the 3 was a horrible idea. And while he might have been a better fit at the 4, I felt I was going to have a hard time getting people to look past his indiscretions/immaturity/low inefficiency.

I don't plan on standing pat post-trade either. But I think I did well to consolidate some talent.

Kobe would fit this current team much better than Nash does, unfortunately.

Yeah, maybe so.

I still hold out a little hope of being a useful player in the right situation. As an undersized PF in the mold of David West.

But yeah, Beasley might be too brain dead to make a situation like that work.

Orlando Magic

pg: CP3, Brandon Jennings
sg: Jason Richardson, Brandon Roy
sf: Corey Maggette, Mike Dunleavy
pf: Michael Beasley, Brandon Bass
c: JaVale McGee, Chris 'Birdman" Anderson

Thanks for the input on the trade. I solve two big problems here. Get Roy out as a starter and bring in a solid scorer to work with CP3 (Maggette trade fits here too) as well as moving Big Al for Beasley and Bass. Plus Bass can be sent in a few minutes early here and there if Beasley is slacking. And Birdman  ;D
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

I like this team a lot more now.

Any thoughts to starting Bass and moving Super Cool Bease to a 6th man role?
