The Bulls select Chicagoan Doc Rivers as head coach.

Good coach, but the right coach? I wonder if the pseudo-suns couldn't have used a bolder choice.

Want to announce that I will be going on vacation Monday morning and that Rondo will be the 100% full time contact for all trades and communication for the Kings next week.

So if you have trade proposals or questions regarding the Kings, please direct them ONLY to Rondo until the following week when, I believe Rondo will then be unavailable and I will then be that contact.

See you all after vacation during the press conferences and playoffs.

Yup, Nick is gone next week, i'm gone the week after that.

And just wanted to throw in my two cents on Bahku and me and Nicks trade.

I think neither Chauncey or Devin made sense for our teams before the trade.  I always feel like having a veteran leader to mentor the young players sounds great in theory but it almost never works out.  Eventually the old player gets sick of it and wants to move on.   I think in the real NBA this trade probably would have gone down at the trade deadline except the kings would probably just trade an expiring contract and not give up Devin Harris haha.

but oh well, I think it makes sense for both parties and I think it gives us a much better chance to win it all, and Bahku a very good chance at team of the future.  (but he also has a pretty strong team right now.)

So was I. The only reason i didn't take him is because of how much he dislikes younger players.

So we're looking at:

PG. ?
SG. Kobe Bryant
SF. Carmelo
PF. JJ Hickson
C. Chris Kaman

and

Nash
J-Rich
Ariza
Haslem
Noah

I think Lucky did himself a pretty huge favor here, but I can't wait to see how CP fleshes out that Bryant/Melo core. I don't like Hickson at the 4, but beyond that I love Kaman there, and I am anxious to see how people think Melo/Bryant are going to co-exist.

melo and kobe are really good friends. i see this as a wade and lebron pairing(they dominate). It will be pretty hard to stop both guys on any given night they can combine for 60+ points...

i wasnt feeling the nash uptempto style of play as a great fit with kobe and kaman...im going to look for a point guard that can run the half court offense well.

as far as hickson goes..he is extremely talented but inconsistent..in games against the celtics this year he looked like a beast.
Being friends doesn't translate into good fit on the court.  Kobe doesn't let Gasol do his thing, is he going to pass to Melo?

Will he accept that Melo is the best scorer in the NBA, or will he continue to think he is?

Who takes the shot at the end of the game?  How is Melo gonna take it when Kobe is hoisting turn-around fall-away 22 footers with a defender all over him in the clutch?

I think they would work out well together.  Look at how well the Redeem Team played.  I think Kobe is more focused on winning than scoring.  This team doesn't have any other guys who require the ball, so they are both looking to still get 20+ fga similar to how Lebron and Wade still both get their shot attempts in Miami because there aren't any other players who need any.

Before, teams would always send their best wing defender out to guard Melo and Kobe.  Now, every night, teams will have to choose who to guard with that defender and the other player will have a more inferior defender guarding him than he ever has in his career.  I think that's who gets more shot attempts on that given night.  As noted before, they are both very versatile scorers too and Kobe can definitely pass.

Did KWhit ever explain how he thinks Phil Jackson is going to come out of retirement?

I think he said he was gonna tempt him with part ownership of the team.

Try getting LeBron, CP3, and Howard next to JJ.  That's ALMOST enough talent for Phil to put his name on the team.
