Addressing the Baron Davis concerns. Yup, it's a risk, but I think it'll work for a few reasons:
1) Baron Davis has had more career renaissances than Mike Tyson. They often come when he's put on a winning team. With respect to the other teams out there, I think my guys will be a legit playoff presence. When was the last time Davis played with vets like Dirk, SJax, and Camby?
2) Theoretical Baron just went through hell with the Clips and Cavs - think he won't be happy to end up with a team that can actually compete? I think that gets at least one good year of BDiddy mojo running.
3) He's never played with an alpha dog like Dirk Nowitzki before. Nowitzki's presence helped rebrand Jason Terry into a winner and a valuable asset.
4) His spot in the lineup depends on how the rest of the team shapes up around him. It's possible that he starts and Lawson comes off the bench depending on how my backcourt looks. There are lots of possibilities for him, several that will work.
5) He really does compliment Lawson's abilities very well, especially with his size. He'll get his minutes regardless of whether he's starting or not.
6) Dude's back in Golden State, which means he'll be able to bust Dirk's balls CONSTANTLY. That should help boost his moral until Dirk eventually eviscerates him during a pre-game shootaround. At that point, I will reassess my options.
It's not a slam dunk, but it was enough to talk myself into picking him up.
