With their 4th-round pick in the 2011 CelticsBlog Draft, the South Beach Samurai, (aka Miami Heat), select 6'7", 205-pound Small Forward from Washington State ...

... Klay Thompson

:)
Wow -- Chauncey Billups, Klay Thompson, Kevin Love and Brook Lopez

Runaway leader for the best jump shooting team in the league.

I'll take that as compliment (though I doubt it was). ;)
It was meant as a compliment. Sorry if it came across differently.

Those guys are going to be tough to defend. Very efficient offensively. I'd love to see them in a flex offense type of setup with Chauncey at the helm picking the best options. Lots of screens and movement.

Thanks, Who ... wasn't sure, (TP) ... that's why I specifically wanted Chauncey, so I could get some guidance and experience for the young core. I think this would be a very exciting team to watch.

Chandler was 1 of 3 guys i was looking at here... here's another:

Andrei Kirilenko

The big question for me is, is he going to sign in Europe before the end of voting, and will he have an opt out?

That's your biggest question, but not your only one. I know you could go on for days questioning his game.

I wish you could have talked to GC before he picked him.

Haha.  I'm not a huge AK47 fan, although he's worth a late 4th rounder, probably.  But yes, other reasons I don't like him:  He's mentally weak, he clashes with coaches and teammates (and his owner, I believe), he complains about touches, he broke down crying after a playoff game, and he's always the first guy out of the gym.

And Roy Hobbs isn't gonna let some pesky restraining order or trespassing violation keep him from learning the truth. THE WORLD NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT HOW MEDIOCRE ANDREI KIRELINKO IS!!!

Haha.  Deron beat me to the punch:

Quote
"You see guys, you see Booz (Carlos Boozer) after practice shooting for 25-30 minutes, you see Memo (Mehmet Okur) shooting for 20 minutes, you see all the rookies, the young guys, you see Hafa (Rafael Araujo) in there working, and you see Andrei being the first guy out the door," Williams said.

"He's coming off a screen on one side, and Matt Harpring's coming off a screen on one side, who do you think you're gonna pass to? You think you're gonna pass to the guy you see working every day in the gym? Or you gonna pass to the guy who never works on his shot but wants to shoot ...

With the 23rd pick in the 4th round of the 2011 CB Draft, The Atlanta Army Ants selects...

CARON BUTLER

I guess I'm a little confused.  Didn't you trade Rudy Gay (a SF coming off an injury) because you wanted Gerald Wallace to play SF?  And then you replaced Gay with...  a lesser SF coming off an injury?

I understand why you like Butler, I just don't understand it in conjunction with the Gay trade.

For me, I had to let go of either Wallace or Gay since I though it's a mistake to grab both positions. I liked the Gay pick and Wallace was the BPA when I need to pick.

Then I realized i won't pick till the 5th round. I won't have a lot of good depth so I traded Gay thinking Crash is a better suit at SF for me since he's a great defender while Rudy is a not so much.

Caron, I'm putting him at the 2 since he can play 2. Unlike Gay and Wallace. And I get three 5th rounders to solidify the team somehow.

It was dumb on my part, but I like my chances right now than having Gay and Crash and guys who are unproven as my depth.

I thought him or AK47 would be available when I picked 5th next round.
Would you consider trading him?

No thanks sir. I already made some bad decisions and just trying to make my team solid. I'll stick with Caron.

Just wondering because I don't know but what's the word on Butler's injury?
I think he was almost ready to play again by the time the Finals happened. Not quite there but almost.

So Caron should have a full summer to get back into top shape before next season.

he was almost good to go in the Finals. He almost even suited up for Game 6 but team decided no. He should be healthy next season. Solid defender, good scorer. He's no Rudy Gay but it's something.

Roy, thoughts on my team?

It looks very strong to me.  It could use a little more experience and leadership, I think, but the talent is definitely there.  Very dynamic and versatile so far.
