Thanks for taking that the way it was meant, TWW.

It was a great line, Nick. Hat tip. I am having fun reading through past "Can Garnett Play Center?" threads though...

"But you don't have to take my word for it." - LeVar Burton

KG's knee hasn't effected his strength, its effected his mobility and leaping ability. He can still play center, and do so at a high level.

We'd need some bruiser to come off the bench, but if we get a mobile PF it'd work.

In 2008 we played a lot of minutes with Posey at PF and KG at C. I think KG can play C effectively just fine using length and speed to defend big guys. The only guys in the league that would scare me are Howard and ... maybe just Howard.

I like the idea of Garnett at center + believe it's the best way forward for Boston if they choose to try and make another title run ...

3) Defend STAT against WW's vicious attacks: On deck

Ahem, that was NOT an attack on STAT that was first team all defense of Kevin Love.

But if other KG-at-center critics want to take note...

Surprised so many people are down on the Pierce pick. He is better then Joe Johnson, Russell Westbrook, Tim Duncan, and Al Horford for the simple fact that he is a number one guy. He's a little older but he is still the guy out of all those players I want shooting with the game on the line.

I thought he should have gone above both Ginobli and Love.
If you're talking about clutch shooting I wouldn't say anyone currently picked is as good as he is (maybe Ginobli and Dirk).

Paul Pierce is without a doubt a worthy first round pick and was about average value at 20.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Ya, agent781 needs to be added to that list. He's been very involved behind the scenes.

So I guess my David Kahn joke predicting you picking another PF in the 4th then 3 PGs probably isn't a good idea. ;) :D ;D

Overall, it looks even enough.  In terms of draft position, though, I would have expected Indiana to do better for moving down nine spots in teh first round; that's historically been worth more than just moving up a few slots in later rounds.

Utah loves Paul Pierce!  I like the Pierce / Gasol combo, though.
