But either way, if the C's could get their hands on Zaza, can we at least agree he would be a valuable addition, if even for reliable depth in the frontcourt, and perhaps a little bit more toughness?
Zaza would be fine. An adequate backup C. I don't think he offers anything more than Krstic did. More rebounding, less offense. Fairly comparable overall impact.
I would be much more interested in acquiring someone like Kwame Brown who can give the team quality interior defense + above average rebounding.
Yeah, I would like both of them. Given JO's fragility, if the C's can't get a top line starting center (and perhaps even if they can), I think they need to get 2 rotation quality centers.
So, if they can find a way to say, swing BBD for a solid guy like Zaza, and then sign a guy like Kwame to solidify their interior defense, I think it will put them in a solid position, and also allow them to interchange a guy like JO or Zaza at PF and center.
I just think we have seen over the last two years how important quality depth is at the center position, so getting as many proven bodies in there as possible should be a goal this offseason.
