Well, I don't know if we should stop them, but I do think that the chances of Ray being traded are pretty low. While he does have a 10 million dollar expiring contract and while he does still play at a very high level, I'm not exactly sure what we can get for him.
Up and coming teams with a lot of talent aren't going to be in the market for him. And while he'd do wonders for a team like Chicago, Chicago isn't going to give us anyone who can be a building block for Ray. And if that's not going to happen, there's no point in trading Ray for some role players.
To compound the problem, with any trade that involves us taking back salary beyond this coming season, Danny is going to have to ask himself whether the players with longer contracts are worth giving up cap flexibility.
Given all of these things, unless some team really blows us away, I see Ray finishing the season (if there is one) in Green.
