This works on the trade checkers and I think helps both teams.

Boston Trades J. O'Neal

Minnesota trades D. Milicic and A. Randolph.

Why:

For Boston, to get younger and have a player in Randolph who can step in at the 4 and give KG a breather and eventually take over at that spot.

For Minnesota, salary relief. O'Neal has one year left opposed to Milicic's three years, it moves Randolph who is a FA after next year and there is no way they can resign him while also trying to keep Beasley and Love. All three are FA's after 2011-2012. Two players that basically play the same position as Randolph. I know Beasley can play the 3 some....

Now Boston is on the hook with Milicic's deal past what they would like (3 years) but you have to give to get. Additionally, Darko may improve on team that is winner, will demand the most from him and has a coach in Rivers I think he will like playing for.

This seems fair to both teams and doable? Any thoughts?

I was thinking about this same exact trade.  8)

Not worth hurting the 2012 cap flexibility over ... but I do like Darko over Jermaine.

Mainly due to health + durability reasons.

so we've come to the point that we want darko milicic ...(not attacking the poster)

I don't like it. I'm 99.9% sure JO played better than Darko did this season. Oh yeah... wait just a second... I forgot JO missed 2/3 of the season. Actually now that we mentioned that I like this trade a lot more. For the center position I would rather look at total rebounds than rebounds per game.

I know there has been some statistical analyis that shows him to be pretty bad. There was an argument that Shaq helped boston more in 30 games than Darko did Minnesota in 82. However, I dunno, I feel like Love probably hurts Darko's numbers and he is actually a decent backup center in this league. The longer he gets away from being that number two pick taken ahead of all the superstars the more people will be able to just take him as what he is. It is kind of like how for the Vet min now Kwame Brown is a decent signing. While I realize Darko has a few more years left at like 5 million, getting Randolph might be worth it cause I do think he would really benefit from Doc and KG. These kinds of trades are more likely than holding out for cp3 or howard. However, all that said I don't think Minnesota would ever do this for O'neal.
