Isiah is working behind the scenes, I'm convinced.
Regardless, D. West, Rubio and another vet point/combo can keep this team a top 4 seed and in contention.
Even if you think there's a chance Delonte can remain healthy, I can't believe anyone who watched the playoffs would think we could be contenders with Delonte as our pg, or (even better) Delonte and a rookie.
He looked horrible, at times great. He's started for a contending team before at the 2 and played a ton of PG over there too. Hes more useful in the half court set than Rondo, that's for sure. I don't think we'll win with Rondo at PG ever again, so yeah its worth a shot to me to stack up for tomorrow.
Do you think Rondo is an all star if he was on NJ since day 1?
Delonte's not as useful in the half court as Rondo. He can shoot decently but he can't pass anywhere near as well and he can't run an offense well. If you look at the Heat series after Rondo hurt his elbow, our offense was much better with a one armed Rondo in the game than it was when he was on the bench (Delonte probably played almost all of those minutes).
And Rondo may have been an all-star if he was on NJ. He'd still be a great passer, a great defender, a great rebounder and great at getting to the rim. He'd still make flashy plays, still be among the league leaders in steals and score more points than he usually does. He's averaged about 17 a game over the last 3 playoffs against some very good defenses. He doesn't shoot a lot but he's clearly capable of scoring.
