He is an unrestricted Free agent this year. The guy is a rebounding machine and reminds me of a poor mans Ben Wallace. This past season he averaged 11.5 RPG in only 26 mins a game. He is a very poor offensive player, but he can definitely provide some of the rebounding and grit we lost without Perk.

If BBD wants anything more than a 1 year deal, I would immediately make a call to Reggie and see if he will take a 1 year deal

Well, unless the new CBA gets rid of all exceptions (such as the MLE), there is no way Evans is signing anywhere for the vet minimum.  However, I do think he would be a very good target as a Davis replacement, if they can convince him to take something in the LLE range.  Chuck Hayes is another similar player they could target as well.

I have very little interest in Reggie Evans. He can't play defense and he can't play offense. Nice rebounder but a complete liability on either end of the floor.

I'd rather snare his teammate Joey Dorsey who can both rebound and play defense.

lol...Vivid illustration of the fallacy of attention deficit disorder....Kaman supposedly is "inflicted".

Sure as hell caught his attention quick.

I think most people laughed when Garnett essentially did the same thing this season to Frye.

Like Who says, he can rebound, but doesn't do much else.  I'd prefer somebody else.

Chuck Hayes would be a great fit here.

If you were going to grab someone whose primary skill is rebounding, I'd rather just try to bring back Troy Murphy for cheap and see if he rediscovers his long-distance shot.

Reggie Evans makes Kwame Brown look like Wilt out there. I think we can do better.

I actually would give Murphy a look as a vet minimum guy...assuming they feel like he has something left.

Honestly, I am not sure what happened to him last year.  He looked like he completely lost it, but he seems too young for that.  I am wondering if he was really struggling coming back from an injury, and perhaps the summer off will help him get back to some semblance of his former self.

Of course, if they did bring him back, I wouldn't count on him as anything other than deep depth, and a shooter at the end of the bench, with anything beyond that being gravy.  So, they would still need to find more of a regular backup PF.

I've been wondering if Murph is even going to get a guaranteed contract offer from anyone.  I'd love to bring him back to camp on a make-good deal - I don't know if he'll get a better offer from anywhere else.

Really like how quick Dorsey is to the ball; I remember him running circles around Shaq earlier this year.  I remember he was likened to Ben Wallace, minus some of the athleticism, coming out of Memphis.

Do Danny and Doc ever pursue this type of player though?  Looking at the big men rotations of the Danny/Doc era, rebounding seems to be pretty low on the totem pole of vital big men characteristics.  Raef, Blount, Scal, Gomes, Sheed, Baby, Jermaine, Erden: some very poor rebounding big men have seen heavy rotation minutes on our teams, good and bad.

Leon Powe/PJ Brown was the only solid rebounding back-up big combination that I can remember us fielding, and both brought more to the table offensively than a guy like Dorsey.

Well, you're ignoring the three most important big men of the Danny/Doc era - KG, Perk, and Big Al Jeff.

There have been plenty of mediocre rebounders out there, but in part that's because of how some of these guys were acquired (late draft picks, cheap free agents).  But I would agree that Danny seems to like "stretch" big men, guys who can open up the floor.  They really seemed optimistic that Murphy would be able to be that player for us this year - although when healthy, Murphy was also great on the boards.

Love Chuck Hayes.  Brilliant defensively against the KG-breed of face-up power forwards: impossible to back down, very difficult to drive by, does a great job of contesting without fouling.  He'd be immensely valuable matching up against the likes of Amare and Bosh, while also contributing above average production on the boards and as a high-post passer.

Can't see Houston letting him go though.  Had a career year offensively (low volume scoring with solid efficiency, was in the top ten in offensive rebounding, almost 3 assists per game in under 30 minutes with minimal turnovers), is beloved by the organization and the fan base.
