Rudy Gay believed to be available for the right price(Rumor)

There is belief around the league that injured Memphis Grizzlies forward Rudy Gay could be had in the right deal. Gay, 25, has about $68 million left on his contract for the next four years. The Grizzlies have already given Zach Randolph a monster $71 million extension this spring and Marc Gasol's expiring contract is up next.

Do the Grizzlies have enough money for Randolph, Gasol, Mike Conley's five-year, $45 million extension that begins next season and Gay, too? Perhaps, but they played awfully well during the postseason without him.

Gay averaged 19.8 points and 6.2 rebounds in a season that ended in mid-February to a shoulder injury. He is one of the league's most explosive scorers and just entering the prime of his career, so he won't come cheap.

Would love to see the c's go after gay if he is available, although I am not sure we could put together a fair package without offering Rondo.

Anyone have any ideas of what we could offer ?

This is a guy I just can't get excited about. I just can't.  I don't think he's as good as Loul Deng.  I don't see how we could expect to competitive against a Lebron with this guy as a top 3 player on the team and he makes way too much money for that

well we have exp contracts & picks which is all they can really want givine thier roster is basically set & built around gasol,z-bo & conley

but the think is he JUST got his contract & even tho he is a great talent it'll harp are cap in the summer of 2012 which i dont see danny taking on with dwight howard being a FA only

i'd say OJ mayo is more likely for danny to go after

this summer i expect anny to go after MLE free agents like s.dalemburt or trading for a big like jason thompson

well if its clear that dwight wont hit FA & dwight dosent wanna be traded here & will be traded to LA or whoever then i say at the deadline danny could make a push for gay is still available

Exactly. The entire point is to find a superstar. Everything else is secondary. Like Gay, who is a nice player but overpaid and no better than a third or fourth best guy on a title team.

I like Gay, but you can't give up Pierce to get him.
