Good Pick SO, I like it.

He's an elite PF, I just hope I don't come to regret it. Selecting him here kinda went against some of my usual draft rules.

Kinda dissapointed you didnt use this picture though

CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
BTW people I wasn't looking for a scorer, I was looking for a SF who could run the break and shoot three and yet pass and score as well. I was down between Hill and Durant but went Durant because he's a much better three point shooter.

Either one is a perfect fit for my team as far as I was concerned

See, I think of Durant as a bit of a black hole, and that's why I think the fit is a little off (and Hill would be much better). Hill was (at the time) a better defender, passer, and a elite scorer (in that year of the NBA, not in the NBA as a whole).

Yeah, it comes down to your preference.  Defense + passing for Grant Hill, or more prolific outside shooting in Durant.  Both are great picks.

The thing with Nick's team is that once Durant gets the ball, he's not passing it, but with Nick's team, ball movement is the thing that separates them from other teams offensively. Magic, West, Walton, those guys are going to be awesome moving the ball but Durant hasn't shown yet to have that ability.
I don't get the whole black hole thing.

There are a bunch of guys that have been drafted ahead of Durant that were the main scorers for their teams who had assist percentages lower than Durants, usage percentages higher than Durants and didn't have nearly the passing ability of Durant that haven't been labeled black holes.

I just don't see it.

I just happen to be super familiar with Durant and I've watched a lot of thunder games. Durant never passes the ball, he's a black hole.

If you wanna look at the #'s, he's got one of the lowest assist ratios among SF's in the NBA (73 of the 95 I could find), and considering he's got a very good midrange jump shooter in Serge Ibaka, another competent scorer in James Harden, and another elite scorer in Russell Westbrook, its a bit of a head scratcher.

He's not gonna rock the boat, he's not gonna complain, and he's gonna score buckets for you, but I just don't think he'd be the best fit. I liked Hill there for you better.

I thought the same thing.  Who, other than AI, is a bigger black hole than Durant?

With the eighth pick in whatever round this is, the Indiana Pacers select

Chris Webber

I like this pick. He's a great complement to either Barkley or Russell, and his passing ability puts him over the top for me.

Even though AI still managed to average like 3x as many assists.

AI once avergaged over 30 pts a game and still had 7.9 apg that season, hardly a black hole. He also avg 6.2 apg over his career, very nice numbers.

I hate that I don't know more about Paul Silas to give you an honest assessment of your draft pick.

He had the ball in his hands all the time, but you could definitely make the argument that Durant is a bigger black hole.
