Alright with my player I am getting a hardnosed scorer/shooter at the SF spot perhaps I can put him in the starting lineup and have Ray be my 6th man! but with my choice the Atlanta Hawks select

Chris Mullin

With that, all of the best remaining SFs are off the board.

I see that I'm up, it'll take me like 5 minutes to make my selection.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Mullin/Hill were two great picks. Zero chemistry issues, good players that can do a lot with better players, both proved that they can be part of winning teams.

Can't wait to see the Redz pick, so much suspense.

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

BTW people I wasn't looking for a scorer, I was looking for a SF who could run the break and shoot three and yet pass and score as well. I was down between Hill and Durant but went Durant because he's a much better three point shooter.

Either one is a perfect fit for my team as far as I was concerned

See, I think of Durant as a bit of a black hole, and that's why I think the fit is a little off (and Hill would be much better). Hill was (at the time) a better defender, passer, and a elite scorer (in that year of the NBA, not in the NBA as a whole).

Yeah, it comes down to your preference.  Defense + passing for Grant Hill, or more prolific outside shooting in Durant.  Both are great picks.

Haha.  Word on the street is that Redz' guy is going to be picked in one of the next two picks.

Aw, I feel bad not trading now.  I didn't get the memo that everyone was gonna pick SFs this round.

If Durant is considered a "best" SF there's still a guy I would have easily picked before him.

The thing with Nick's team is that once Durant gets the ball, he's not passing it, but with Nick's team, ball movement is the thing that separates them from other teams offensively. Magic, West, Walton, those guys are going to be awesome moving the ball but Durant hasn't shown yet to have that ability.

Good Pick SO, I like it.  Im also going the PF route.

Dallas selects a hard nosed defender who we know will thrive in the 6th man role.

Paul Silas

CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

I don't get the whole black hole thing.

There are a bunch of guys that have been drafted ahead of Durant that were the main scorers for their teams who had assist percentages lower than Durants, usage percentages higher than Durants and didn't have nearly the passing ability of Durant that haven't been labeled black holes.

I just don't see it.

For me, from a chemistry standpoint, I think Durant will be able to mesh with the guys around him and players like Magic and Walton will push him.  I don't think Durant has to develop incredible passing skills in this offense.  They'll be enough ball movement already and I don't see Durant being a blackhole here considering his teammates.

He's gonna get some incredible looks and Magic & Walton will know that.

He's an elite PF, I just hope I don't come to regret it. Selecting him here kinda went against some of my usual rules for drafting
