Wow ... still at least two guys I would've thought gone long ago. Very interesting. ;)
Are they centers?  Because I'm the only guy who didn't immediately jump on one.

One is a center, one a point-guard ... easily both in the top ten of all-time at their positions.

Only one Center? I'm looking at several on my list..

One that is easily a Top Ten, but there are a few great big guys left ... two or three who are arguably in that group. Tomorrow will indeed be interesting ... can't believe more people didn't hop onto the draft ... what a blast! Every team is strong in it's own way ... I'd hate to be a panelist, it's going to come down to benches, I think.

Must've been a bad year.

Thank God I'm not picking that year ;D

I must be missing something. In 2001 he shot 37.5% from beyond the arc, but they didn't even make the playoffs that year.

His next best year was 34% from range, and they lost in teh first round.

Check out 95-96, or 97-98.

33% and 34% respectively, right?

Not sure if we're looking at the same thing, so here's the link:

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/p/paytoga01.html

Are you exclusively looking at his playoff 3%?

Yeah he must be. The year he went for 41% from 3 in the playoffs, he shot 33% from 3 during the regular season.

Already starting to see a little separation with the teams, in my eyes.

Nope...reg season and playoff FG% and 3pt%.

FG% isn't indicative of how great of a shooter he is though. Celtics sure have a player that fits the bill.

He was on fire from downtown in that 95/96 playoff though.

lol...well could someone post another reference that is more detailed than Basketball-reference?

Between looking at that and the vids, it's hard to argue. I mean, his TS% is in the 50's.

I'm not sure what you mean, Payton was good at getting in the lane, and he was a force when facing a smaller point in the post, and was good at getting to the line, but he wasn't a very good shooter from range. All his stats bear that out.

Moranis is traveling and won't be picking his pick until tomorrow when he picks both picks. He notified us in a post so I guess today's round is over until Moranis picks tomorrow.

Ya, but I alluded to a player earlier whose ts% in 09/10 was .540 and you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who believes hes a good shooter.

I still support the decision to pick Payton, but he was an average shooter at best.

Droids are sweet so I can pick. I wanted Dirk but since he is gone I will take one of his predecessors and open the inside with an excellent shooting big man and one time MVP.

PF - Bob Mcadoo

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson

Ok..he wasn't a very good shooter from range...but boy was he good...especially for us. Enough to keep the opposing defenses honest.

And the defense? Wow.

Duncan will always be a C/PF to me, never PF/C.
Just the opposite for me but I do like having the flexibility. I believe Timmy is the best PF ever. Here's some history and why I believe he's a PF/C:

Duncan played power forward next to David Robinson for six whole years as a true power forward. He played next to Nazr Mohammed, Radoslav Nesterovic and Francisco Elson–all of whom are true centers–who started next to Duncan for championships in 2005 and 2007. With the exception of the last 2-3years, where the likes of “centers” like Matt Bonner, Antonio McDyess and Dejuan Blair have completed the frontline with TD21, Duncan has always been a true power forward in the lineup
