BballTim - you forgot to mention his 2 all-star appearances (voted by the coaches, btw).
Imo, the only people who undervalue Rondo is his own fanbase.
Maybe that's because we get to see him every game and know his weaknesses. Most just look at the box score and the C's record. We get to see his greatness and his flaws night in and night out.
He is a very good player. I wouldn't put him in the discussion of the elite PG's like Rose, CP3 and DWill. I'd put him in that next crop with Nash and Westbrook.
That said, if word gets around that Ainge is shopping him, Rondo's value immediately goes down. If we don't want him, who would? I'd wait and see if anyone calls first if I were Ainge. If he goes hard looking to move him, he is going to pay through the nose to get someone like CP3.
Everyone likes Rondo for CP3, but I am not sure NOH would. Ainge might have to get creative and either make it a three team deal or trade Rondo for young talent than flipping that for CP3.
It honestly seems too difficult now, the time was probably last offseason when CP3 was much more vocal about being unhappy, was coming off an poor season by his standards, and Rondo was a few minutes away from probably winning Finals MVP, but we will see.
That said, I'd still be happy with him at PG opening-night next season.
