Well, he's the only potential starter that can be had in free agency. Everyone else we can sign is either filler or a career backup.
Eh, I would prefer Nazr Mohammed, Kwame Brown, Nenad Krstic, and many other guys over Dalembert. He is a waste of money.
You are right that the pickings are slim though, so the C's will have to get inventive this summer to fill that hole. But Dalembert is not the answer.
I wouldn't trust any of these guys to be the full-time starter (30 minutes, 80 games). Mohammed, while seasoned, is horrible. He's a 10 mpg guy on a good team. Brown is much like Mohammend, except less seasoned. Krstic is what he is -- he can be serviceable, but he's not what we need in the starter role.
In the end, however, we'll have whatever is to be had with the MLE, I guess, since we don't really have any assets to speak of.
