He may stop eating burgers, pies and ice cream if he wants to be a starter in Boston or anywhere else.

In all honesty, he's not mobile enough to be a starter or strong/tall enough. Sure he cant even dunk the dang thing.

Well, at least Baby has his priorities in order after playing like garbage in a series where we got eliminated in 5 games.  He's gotta get paid.

And yeah, I'm sure he was just answering a question, but here's a phrase BBD should learn:  "No comment".

I saw the quote this morning, and it was very innocuous when read in context.  But is this news?  Of course Davis wants to be a starter, who doesn't?

I just would be absolutely shocked if Davis doesn't walk this summer though.  I think the C's would have to overpay him to keep him here, because he just wants a bigger role.

As crazy as this may sound - if Big Baby dropped another 20-25 pounds and came back looking like Karl Malone he'd have extra lift and quickness.

I think he could be a 20-10 guy. But only if he he lost significant weight and got down to around 275-280, ripped.

if we keep KG, Ray and Paul, the only way we win a title next year is with a heavy, heavy dose of our young guys carrying alot more of the load.

Starter though?

How about:

1. You come back looking like Iguodala, condition wise
2. You have  Kevin McHale'ish "sixth man of the year", year...
3. Then you "maybe" start once KG retires and you've proven you can put up 15-20 and 8-12 a night, all season, without adding 15-20 pounds of fat?

I mean, I actually am a fan of Davis', but "earn it", kid.

Legitimate question: on what team could he start? Who could use a shooting PF?

He gained 15-20 pounds in the middle of the season...playing basketball. He even had a bonus payment clause in his contract to keep his weight under check...that should have been an incentive for him...helping your team out by trying to stay in the best shape you can, that's a player's responsibility...its the least he could do. He can talk like a starter...but he can't play or act like one. He is going to be Eddy Curry 2.0 if he continues to go down the same path.

He's all talk. How do you come into training camp knowing youre a role player and knowing youre going to be backing up Garnett for 20ish minutes a night and claim "you have no idea what youre roll here is." That literally makes no sense. I hope some team greatly over pays for Baby and he starts for a while, then he becomes a bust.

Hehehe..so in his head he plays better than KG and Jeff. A 6 foot 8 guy who can't dunk. Talking about delusions of grandeur!! I surely hope we sign and trade this guy to a team where he will start and play all 48 minutes so his weaknesses get exposed.

Glen is funny he should be a comedians because that's the only way to explain why he think he can get a starting roleplaying the way he's played in the playoffs. Heck I bet other GMs are laughing right now at what he's saying. If he wanted to be a starter he maybe should've... I don't know... KEPT HIS WEIGHT DOWN AND NOT GAIN 20 LBS. If he wanted to be a starter he should've played better in the playoffs and proved he was. To me there's nothing wrong with being a 6th man on the bench. Manu won 6th man of he year when he could've been a starter at the time, Lamar won too when he said he wanted to be a starter, but accepted the role and wanted to win 6th man of the year, and Jason Terry is a 6th man who's plays well enough to start on teams. When you're on a contender and you're obviously not better than the starter PF, just take the 6th man and play the best you can.

Eh, not a big deal that he wants to be a starter, what player doesn't.

The guy played close to 30 minutes a game this year.  I don't think he should be complaining about whether he starts or not.  Let him walk, he'll have fun on some team like Toronto or Cleveland that has no chance to win a thing.
