I got love for Baby and enjoyed the ride but it's time to move on

We need to address our rebounding and BBD hurts us

He's all talk. How do you come into training camp knowing youre a role player and knowing youre going to be backing up Garnett for 20ish minutes a night and claim "you have no idea what youre roll here is." That literally makes no sense. I hope some team greatly over pays for Baby and he starts for a while, then he becomes a bust.
It makes perfect sense if you realize what "role" means. Playing X minutes is not the definition of a role. Also, at that point in time the question was prety legitimate: the previous two seasons we had ask him to adopt two completely different styles of play: first, to be a low-post banger, and then to be a pick-and-pop shooter. And this season he had a third, yet again, different role: post-up isolation guy and designated closer.

In all fairness, he's been yanked all over the place, so I wouldn't be sure what my role was in this case, either.

Legitimate question: on what team could he start? Who could use a shooting PF?

Exactly, that's what I wanna know.

That whole "role" stuff is total b.s. By this point in his career, Davis shouldn't need a known "role" to succeed; that doesn't affect whether or not he is good at getting rebounds or hitting open jumpers. He just isn't good. 20-10 is laughable, being a starter is conditional on injuries plaguing whatever team he is on, and the whole 6th man of the year possibilities, never really deserved, look further ridiculous. He is what he is at this point, barring taking 2 years off to go through gastric bypass surgery and re-hab his lost muscle from such a procedure.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
His nickname is very fitting. He needs to grow up and make a commitment to his conditioning and his team, and maybe stop eating pancakes and spaghetti for breakfast.

He could very well start for someone else, but I think a sign and trade would only net us someone of a parallel skill set, which would probably mean we'd just be overpaying for someone else. I say just let him walk.

Open Letter to Big Baby,

BBD we love you, your personality, the turn around in your Life and all you have accomplished being a Celtic. But honestly have you earned a starting role? Are you consistent both in season and in the playoffs? Have you developed your body to a Power Forwards level? You need to do what Kendrick Perkins did over three years to get to be a Top Ten Low Post Defender Player? Have you developed a attitude that would leave us without the impression that you play more like a Pau Gasol then a Karl Malone? You've still got of work to do to replace a "Warrior" like Kevin Garnett! Even at this stage in his career I have more faith in "KG" than I have for you! I respect your desire and your Love for the Celtics, but you have not risen to the level of Starting Power Forward for the Celtics Yet??? IMO?

BB play in the playoffs and the end of the year doomed any chances of him landing a big contract anywhere.  If we can sign him for under 5 mil a year I say keep him.  Other than that ... Good Luck BB.

Are the Suns hiring Chris Wallace this summer or something?!

We'll see Baby again this summer dancing on some site. He's use to failing big, and doesn't take losing nearly as bad as KG, who was in a dark place last off-season. Baby believes he's a starter, and that should finally send him away from here. Didn't matter that I didn't like anything about him, he was horrible player. I will be happy to see him go, but I was for this three seasons ago when his stock was worth more, but as long as he talks his game up, maybe some sucker(like Danny and his "energy" fanbase) listens.
