The criticism of Ainge is also absolute nonsense.
Not counting the era of the territorial picks in the nba draft, only 4 teams have won the NBA championship without having a top 3 draft pick or a substantial amount of cap space for a major free agent signing:
the 70s Celtics
the 79 sonics
the 06 heat
the 08 celtics

I would say that is pretty impressive.

what does that have to do with anything. he can be a great GM and still make mistakes.

I'd argue in fact that one of the biggest reasons he is a great GM is because he corrects mistakes instead of denying them...

The league finally has a "LeBron stopper"...and he was on our bench all this time. Why didn't he play??

Oh..never mind.

Apparently Perkins was the real Lebron stopper, huh?

Perk ain't gonna help with rotations.

Perk would foul the Heat just like the rest of the C's did.

We lost this series due to poor turnovers, poor offensive execution and our small lineup didn't come close to playing even to their small lineup.

right because OKC has such a terrible help defense with him there.

just go look at what his teammates are saying about him in OKC. also take a look at what other teams said when they found out that we traded Perk.

Nope...it's Jeff Green. Pay attention.

OKC has terrible inside defense, period. To point to the OKC - Memphis series as an indication as to how Perkins would turn the celtics-heat series around is insanity.

As for what the teammates are saying, so what? The celtics also said pretty nice things about Kristic and Green.

I know you meant that. But since apparently the reason we lost is that we didn't have Perkins, he must be the real Lebron stopper, right?

As for Jeff Green, his defense on Lebron was world's better than Pierce's.

The fact is people pointed out that if Shaq was not able to return, we would lose the size advantage that we had over MIA in the regular season with the Perk trade.

so here we are with Shaq unable to play and MIA going hog-wild in the paint with the penetration of Wade and LeBron and now the pro-trade people are saying Perk would have not made a difference.

There is absolutely no accountability on this issue. What was said would happen then happens and still no acknowledgment...

we beat this team during the season. does anybody remember that?

So answer me this. How in the heck did OKC trade away two starters and become a better team given that they obviously got a stiff back in the trade who can do nothing that matters on the basketball court? It is amazing.

We have been kicked out of the playoffs...Perkin's team is still in it. More power to him.

End of story.

Correct. He did such a great job on Lebron in this series, not to mention his scoring and other achievements, that the Celtics just won the series 1-4.

yeah it's hard to figure how a team with no interior defense and a slow 65% starting center could be on the verge of going to the WCFs...

Yeah -- the OKC interior defense was awful tonight. Also, in the months since the trade, I have heard very little out of OKC land about how much they miss Green and Krstic. Fans are dumb though.

I told dlpin to quit, but i just can't help myself.

Memphis when Perkins is on the court(before tonight): 114 ORtg
Memphis when Perkins is off the court: 97 ORtg.

They are winning because of Durant, Westbrook and their other bigs.
