boston needs a 6'9 athletic wing that can shoot

We have one. Jeff green. It was about time that doc had him instead of baby. His defense will improve and his rebounding will too. Baby, as ive said all year, is done. He didnt have the work ethic to go with his ego.

we need another one!!

of course he wants to be a starter. he will test the market then when no one is willing to give him the money he wants he'll be back for small money. that's what happened last time he was up for a contract.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I'm in favor of this. Priority number two should be to sign West to a one year deal--5 or 6 million.

That's a lot of cash for someone on a min contract (non-guaranteed) who missed most of the season with injuries and had a bad series and a decent series in the playoffs.

I like BBD's ambition in saying he wants to start.

He should be trying to spread his wings and see what he can do with more playing time / larger role. He'll fail. But he needs to try.

He has been a key reserve on a title contender, this is the next step for him.

I agree, but I don't know if I want him for more than 1 year. So the 5 or 6 million is an incentive to sign a 1 year deal.

Yeah, I don't think Delonte will command that type of money yet. He hasn't fully repaired his reputation yet. Not with those injuries costing him most of the season.

I do think Delonte is worth that type of cash (as a starting PG). I just don't think anyone will offer it to him.

Yea...I be in favor of keeping D WEST ,too, I think he gets ankle fixed , wrist and shoulder time to heal..he'll be good next year.

I'd trade some BBD salary to bring West back.

Good point ... that would cost us the MLE though.

Only have non-bird rights on Delonte. 120% of prior contract is the max they can offer without eating into the MLE.

Are you willing to spend the MLE on Delonte or would you rather pursue someone else with that cash?

Delonte's played decently the last few games but I don't think anyone who was watching the playoffs would make him a starting pg. At least not a team looking to have a pg run the offense, maybe a team like the Lakers or the Heat.

Yes, in that type of a role. A non-PG centric offense.

Great glue guy in that role ... otherwise, best off as a very good backup combo guard ($4mil per?).

I've not been happy with him; however, if the C's can sure up the center spot, BBD isn't a bad option if he's solely playing the 4 spot.  And with Green likely looking to get minutes there, we'd likely only see BBD 10 mpg or so.  And we could do worse than him in that role.

He started in Cleveland and can start anywhere where they have a swing player who likes to work with the ball a lot. Luckily, he's had an up and down season, so we may be able to keep him, if we're interested.

Maybe. Is he worth more than Baby was after the 2009 playoffs, or even as much?
