Are you,

1. In Denial, thinking the celtics can come back or can't believe they are almost out?
2. Angry that we are almost out or lost to the heat?
3. Bargaining, thinking maybe we can win it next year with small changes?
4. Depression, because we are almost out?
5. Accepted the fact that it wasn't our year bc of injuries and age?

Just curious how everyone is feeling right now, that's all

So your saying if we won tonight (which we could and should have), you still wouldn't have given us a shot?

I'm not in a stage of grief ... ain't over 'til it's over, and we're still alive. You don't bury something while it's still breathing. Is it really so improbable to win three games in-a-row? I don't believe so ... and until the season is over, I'm remaining hopeful.

They beat us by 9, 11 and 8, (tonight, which we actually almost won, and was much closer that the score indicates), and had to work very hard to do so, in games that we played poorly ... we beat them by 16, handily. If we play our "A" game for three nights, we can still move on.

This isn't "blind" optimism, (I completely understand that the odds are against us), it's "intentional" optimism ... I choose to believe because the alternative is too painful, and the reality is we've still got a chance. I'll keep holding on as long as my team does ... that's the least I can do for all the joy they give to me.

Sure, I'd give us a shot to win the series.  And, if they got past the Heat, I think they'd have a decent chance of winning it all, though I'd be dubious that they'd have enough left in the tank to get past the Bulls and the Mavs / Grizz / Thunder.

Truth be told, though, I've long thought that the key to winning it all this season would be home court advantage and Shaq being healthy enough to contribute 8-12 points and a few rebounds off the bench.  Once it was clear neither of those things was going to be there come playoff time, I started to steel myself for the eventual let down.  When Rondo injured himself on Friday, that appeared to be the death knell, and it looks like it was.

To put it more simply, perhaps, at the end of last season I felt like there were some pretty glaring problems with this team that needed to be addressed if they wanted to get back to the Finals and actually win it all instead of sputtering out again.  At the start of the season, it looked as though they might have succeeded in addressing those issues.  By the end of the season, it was clear they hadn't -- and thus I expected the Celtics to sputter out of the post-season, just as they did last season, whether in the 2nd round, conference finals, or game 7 of the finals.

I'm kinda still optimistic but mainly in shock at the fact we're down 3-1 to Miami

Stage 5 The acceptance of the fate. Outside our control. It wasn't meant to be.
