Jeff Green? Von Wafer? Ray Allen? Sasha Pavlovic? Someone else?

Unfortunately Jeff Green is the best option.  I like his effort so far although the results have been less then impressive.  He just needs to turn his intensity up a notch.  But he's definitely the most capable.

Just get up in his grill Jeff!  Take away his room to breath!  Turn your swag on kid!

It's now or never for him.

Jeff Green.

He is the Celtics with the best mix of size and speed.

Double with West as long as West is talking trash with Lebron.

That's a great question...one I cannot answer, but I'll give it a shot.

Out of the lsit you mentioned, maybe Jeff Green? He is the most athletic out of the trio...if not him, then maybe Wafer?

Wafer was playing very well before he went down with that injury...was coming around defensively..he had managed to play himself into the rotation and everything.

Now? He rarely plays.

Jeff (and Von) is still way too small to guard Lebron...when I think of Lebron I think of a mix of Karl Malone with Kobe Bryant....that much size and quickness is rare.

The best opportunity, I guess - would be in Jeff Green. He is smaller, but he does have the quickness and athleticism. But it's almost impossible to turn Jeff into a mini-KG in just a few weeks.

Unfortunately the idea defender for Lebron was traded to Portland, and I while I would've loved to get Crash here in Green I don't think Gerald Wallace would've came off the bench for Paul.

have to go with Green. i thought he did ok the other day although Lebron's numbers don't show it. I don't think anyone can stop him one on one when he's that hot and it didn't look like he was getting much help. To be honest I didn't see Pierce stopping him either.
I remember one play when he went left than spun back for a little hook and Kystic who was right there and never even put his arm up.

Wasn't he coming off the bench in Portland at first?  and he was ok with it?

But ya, he'd be ideal.  As would Shane Battier...

Yeah you're right GW was coming off the bench initially for POR, and then he gained a starting spot eventually. Good point.

I get the impression that CHA would've expected the farm from Boston to get him, though.

As for Battier - I was expecting Shane to somehow end up in Boston. But he didn't.

Maybe HOU was asking Danny for too much for him.

The oddest thing out of it all is that Doc sometimes plays BOTH Paul and Jeff together.

I just think that it's going to have to be a team effort to stop him. Boston did it for 3 games this season, and I hope they can get back to it.

I'd go with Green, but I'd also try Pavlovic and see how it goes. Sasha has probably played a lot against LEBron over the years in practice.

Maybe Ray but I'd rather save him a bit for O.

Whoever it is needs to make him go right, not left.

I think you're right that it will have to be a team effort.  I hate to say it but Green has shown he can't stay with Bron 1 on 1.

Against the Knicks, during the 4th quarter (of game 2 I think -- the one where Carmelo dominated) we started doubling him every time he touched the ball. We forced the rest of the team to beat us -- and they couldn't.

I expect the Celtics to come out with a similar approach for game 3.  Not sure what it's going to be (cause when Wade and Lebron are on the court at the same time we can't double them both -- can we?).  But we gotta put some pressure on the rest of the Heat to beat us.

I think Green has done pretty well on him. If you don't just look at the numbers and actually watch him play him every time he is making Lebron work for his points. Lebron is just making some difficult shots and one's that he usually struggles with. Of course he'll have the occasional blow by of Green but I think Lebron does that against everyone in the NBA.

I agree, I think Green has done well against him, when they have been able to keep the Heat out of the open court.  The numbers look bad, mainly because when Green was in there, the Heat were getting a lot of fast breaks, and Lebron was attacking before the C's were able set the defense.  IMO, it has had a lot to do with the offense when Green was in there (or more accurately, when Pierce was NOT in there) not being able to take care of the ball, and convert baskets.

When the defense has been able to set up, I think Green has done a very solid job on Lebron, by being aggressive, fighting past picks, etc.

...although I do wish he would get better in the team defense.

My opinion is that the best option is Sasha Pavlovic, but Green is better in offense so we will see Green i gueess...
