haven't had time to read the whole thread but i thought this would be the place to log my off season list.

FA centers: Oden or Mark Gassol,  chandler?

resign Green, Allen (hometown discount?) west?

sign and trade Davis for defensive wing or let him walk and sign corry brewer to back up the 2/3
shaq retires

I haven't crushed the numbers because I'd rather watch paint dry
but i believe this is feasable.

rondo, west
allen,  brewer
pierce green, brewer
kg, green
FA center, j o'neal

Ray Allen has a player option for $10 million.

The mavs aren't giving up chandler, and memphis isn't breaking up what looks to be the most offensively potent 4-5 combo in the league, bu giving up Gasol.  At this point, I bet they'd be more likely to let Gay go than Gasol. Similarly, the mavs will drop Haywood before touching Chandler...he's meant a ton to their team this yr.

  Didn't Brewer get a multi-year deal?

Also while we're talking about Portland, I think we should give Greg Oden a chance, as long as we don't overpay too much. Still a lot of potential.

Wasn't he offered a fat contract last week? Or was it just a rumour?

Huh. Didn't hear that one. If anyone's got a link to this...?
Mike Conley Sr. said yesterday that Oden is going to play next year, but just wasn't sure if it would be in Portland, which seems to indicate to me if he was offered something it couldn't have been too good to pass up.

EDIT: I guess I should have mentioned Mike Conley Sr. is Oden's agent.
There are reports that Oden wants to leave Portland. That he wants a fresh start.

That he'd rather join a new team than stay with the Blazers.

Somewhere away from the injuries and bad memories + away from all the upset fans + the huge pressure that Oden has been under from day one. The pressure that he has failed to live up to (due to injuries).
I honestly believe that Oden and/or Roy might be had for KG and picks.  It would be a huge risk by the Celtics due to the injury concerns, but if I was DA I would be looking at it.

Roy + Oden (3 years, 24 million)

for

KG, Bradley, Davis (3 years, 15 million), LAC #1

Be a huge risk for the Celtics, but if it pays off it could pay off big time.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

too much for the C's to give up for 2 players that are major injury risks.  Roy and Oden are more likely to miss more playing time than to actually play.

duck parade

we draft Kyle Singler
we resign Nenad - one-year deal.
we extend the QO to Jeff Green and he takes it
we sign and trade Baby + Quisy exception for Greg Oden
Ray is back, Shaq is back, Delonte is back, Wafer is back

we trade back Cleveland's 2nd rounder to get Semih back.
no lockout, Shaq doesn't play at all until the Playoffs.

we end with the 4th seed in the East, yet we manage to win it all

duck parade

we get a big FA. Kg and Ray resign for cheap. On to another duck parade.

sweet... isn't it?

without great risk you won't get great reward.

Trade Idea:

Sacramento gives up Tyreke Evans ($3.9 mil) + Udrih (horrible contract through 12/13 starting at $6.6 + Garcia (horrible contract through 13/14 starting at $5.5)

Boston gives up Green ($4.5) + Ray Ray ($10)

Obviously, Sac-Town only does this to clear their books and try to convince their fans they got back a young talent in exchange for Tyreke (i.e. green)

The C's can make a final run at a ring next year with:

Rondo
Evans
Pierce
KG
JO

Then build around Evans / Rondo / Pierce after 11/12.  The C's give up a ton of financial flexibility but they get a guy with legitimate all-nba talent AND an all world ability to drive you and his teammates crazy.

So do you want to explain to me why Sactown gives up their franchise player, a legit 20-5-5 guy when healthy, for Ray Allen and Jeff Green?  Makes no sense whatsoever.  Their payroll is really low right now, they aren't so desperate to get rid of Udrih that they'd dump the best player on their team.
