Something to think about.
Danny's moves have cost the team.
The Perk/Nate for Krstic/Green deal stank.  :P
Not signing Tony Allen is obviously
an epic fail move by Danny.

Serious Question: to those who know more than
I do about the inner workings of this organization.

Under what conditions would Danny Ainge be removed
of his duties ?

Repeat after me.

We are not losing because of the trade.

I suppose the sudden nose dive post trade has nothing to do with it.

Let's be realistic, Green is a better player than Perkins but the chemistry and cohesion of the team was hurt with the trade.

Ainge should have made a less risky move if he wanted to beef up the bench. All the scrap heap signings have been disasters.

How was the trade not a bad thing?

How can anyone definitively say that team is not losing because of the trade? In the same way, none of us can say they would be ahead in this series if the Perk trade had not been made, but some other move was made.

The bottom line, however is this. Danny Ainge got all the credit for making the shrewd moves that got the team the championship in 2008, and he has to take the blame when this team goes down in flames this year to Miami. Remember, the fish rots from the head and Danny is the top guy when it comes to the basketball operations. No letting him off the hook.

By the way, to the op, there is no chance he will be fired.

Danny Ainge's job isn't under threat.

The work he has done to assemble the Big Three here in Boston and develop a Championship caliber nucleus which won one title and came within minutes of a second ... will guarantee him his job here in Boston for several years after the Big Three depart.

Danny will have every opportunity to rebuild this team.

I don't think Ainge should be fired, despite the obvious blunder in the trades.

  • Rondo = Good
50+ win season, first round sweep, fighting hard against the most talented team in the league . . . Danny Ainge will not be fired.

Marquis Daniels is a pretty substantial loss that hardly anyone talks about much.

He shouldn't be removed from his duties. But, I'm sure glad he was willing to cut back and not give TA a matching contract (or maybe a little more than Memphis offered), or offer Perk less than the going rate was going to be cut and not give Posey a 4th year. Tens of millions for the Big 3 year after year and yet he wants to save a few million per year on salary and luxury taxes.

I wonder how much money the C's will lose out on regarding ticket revenue from playing about 5 or 6 less home playoff games as well as t-shirts, food, drinks, etc.  Maybe it will be equal to the money saved on the aforementioned players.

I just hope Shaq plays and it is 2-2 one week from today and we are having a praise Danny thread.
We all think we know more than we really do....

Danny will resign due to personal health reasons. I thought it was a miracle that we got Rondo, Perkins, Pierce, RA, KG, BBD, Tony Allen, Delonte West and others.

I don't like the Perkins for Jeff Green trade much now but I was sort of on board expecting to see Shaq, Jermaine, and Murphy a lot down the stretch. What happened to Carlos Arroyo?

All these late season moves did seem to slow the Celtics down. All I can say is that the Celtics look tired and exhausted in the 4th qtr and played very poorly and shot poorly and could not match Miami's energy.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Except the "nose dive" started before the trade. The celtics were 4-3 with Perkins as a starter, despite 5 of those 7 games being at home, and 3 of those 7 being against non playoff teams.

Edited to add: As for Ainge being fired:
2 of Boston's 13 60 win seasons came under Ainge despite the fact that Ainge never had a substantial amount of cap space or a top 3 draft pick. I would say that is outstanding.

If it's true that everyone in the room was in complete agreement on the trade (I doubt it) then he won't have to worry about that
