The real problem is the way Doc's using Baby.  Baby is a role player and really not too bad of one.  He would be good on the floor alongside Garnett and Pierce.

The problem is that Doc has been throwing the whole bench out there at the same time:  West, Green, Baby, and Krstic along with Ray.  Look at that lineup.  There is zero interior defensive toughness and not a single player who can create his own shot nor create a shot for anyone else.  It is a horrible horrible lineup.

The solution is to mix up the starters and bench.  Start going with lineups of:

Rondo/West/Pierce/Baby/Krstic
West/Pierce/Green/KG/Baby or Krstic
Rondo/Allen/Green/Baby/KG

All of those lineups have Baby in them, are big enough to hold it down inside, and also can run efficient offense.

Green, West, Baby, and Krstic are all players who are good at letting the offense come to them.  All are players who are not good at creating their own offense.  We have 3 players on our team who can either create their own offense or create offense for others:  Rondo, Pierce, KG.  So, play 1 of them at all times and 2 as much as possible.

Tommy POint..

but i will say that Doc likes to have his starters out there the max as possible... so tends to try to get away with 3-4-5 minutes of playing 4 bench players at the same time... West-Green-Baby-Nenad.

That stat means nothing.  The starters came out, turned the ball over, missed open shots, gave the Lebron and Wade fast break dunks, got their confidence up, and gave the bench a deficit to work with.  You want to blame anyone, blame the starters.  Baby, and the bench actually played great and cut into the deficit significantly before blowing it in the last minute of the first half. Foul trouble kept Rondo on the bench, and Delonte is not ready to close out halves just yet.

I've said this before, but our starters just can't go 40+ minutes like Miami's can.  Those young Miami legs are going to be darn hard to stop with our old legs and less than excellent bench players.

Ok, it's just one game. Baby's been playing out of his role, and Doc is  overplaying him. Baby is very good at giving you 4-5 minutes of energy play, outhustling the opponents and attacking the basket. Instead, he's playing big minutes, showing low energy and stamina, and falling for the jumpshot because of that.

I still don't get why Doc does that. Nenad is a better option than Baby most of the time. Baby is a great defender against big men who can't score away from the basket, like Howard, but almost every 6'9" player can shoot over him.

It's time for Doc to use his players properly. we're 0-1, and the time for messing with rotation is over. We need the playoff Celtics right now. It wouldn't hurt also if he played the Pierce/Green/KG frontcourt. Pierce and Green can handle most of the PFs in the East if they want to go small. The Green/Baby combo at the 4 an 5 is something to avoid.

Rondo is the key for this team, Baby just has to play within his role, but he's not the reason for the Celtics struggles.

Go Celtics!!!

Does Doc think putting a 6'11" Troy Murphy in the game is worst than Baby? Does he think Von Wafer doesn't deserve to at least get a chance to guard Dwanye? Does Doc think Sasha would be embarrassed on the court defensively. How bout Avery or Carlos, am I to believe that Chalmers is so much better that Doc can't rest either Rondo or Delonte when in the game. Krstic might as well carve an actual doghouse while on the bench. I vote for Doc to immediately switch the roles of Baby and the usual suspects on the bench.
