I had so much hope for this kid, what on earth is going on. I didn't really watch him much back in OKC, was he always like this?

I honestly hope he has a breakout series against Miami, boy do we need him.

I don't disagree with that, but all he really needs to do is rebound and score, it's not rocket science.

Toss "playing at a new position" onto that pile as well.  It's not like Melo is an easy guard, either - he may be the hardest player in the league to contain as far as scoring goes.

More efficient scoring, at least 8 pts 4 rebounds a game, a decent bench contribution. He doesn't have to take over the game or knock down 30 points.

Instead he's constantly getting rejected at the rim, missing open jumpers, taking bad fouls, and turning over the ball horribly.

Hey you're absolutely right, I'm armchair jockeying it up. But even you have to admit that he's been underwhelming.

Perkins hasn't had nearly as much trouble (though he's a starter), again apples and oranges but he's an NBA player in the end of the day.

Perkins hasn't had nearly as much trouble (though he's a starter), again apples and oranges but he's an NBA player in the end of the day.

Perk's job is to go be Perk in OKC.  

Green's job is to completely reform the way he plays the game to fit in with the Celtics.  New position, new responsibilities, different shot opportunities, etc.

i know he is has been "underwhelming", which is why i gave my thoughts as to WHY he is in my first response.

That sums it up well and makes perfect sense.

This is troubling though, we need him to be a solid contributor for the rest of the playoffs if the Celtics want real success.

Tired of the excuses for a guy in his 4th year in the league and who has plyed 30-plus games with the Celtics. He looked like a Deer in the headlights in the 4th quarter today.  He did have 7 boards today, which was a plus. Other than that he continues to be a huge disappointment.

i dont see any1 making excuses.   people are in agreement he hasnt played well and has been disappointing.  but i think people are able to see and recognize that there are reasons why he has underperformed.
