Looks as if Shaq will not play in the playoffs. This is a big loss going forward...although many of us expected it

What a backfire this whole center position fiasco has been.

yeah..starting to look that way...i know the Cs aren't a good rebounding team but last night showed how bad they are against a very small knicks line up...

We will do just fine with a combination of JO and Krstic.

Kristic??? He needs to step up to help this team. Heat/Bullls are going to be tough to beat.

Well, I have been thinking that for a while now.  But I am sure this will keep coming up until the season is over.

I'm surprised some local newspaper in North Andover, MA is getting a source that Sherrod Blakely, Chris Forsberg, or even Gary Washburn can't.

If this has any truth, one of the main beat writers for the Celtics will confirm this sooner than later.

Ugh... definitely waiting for an official word on this one so I have a little hope he can come back but... it looks like KG '09 all over again, except this is not necessarily fatal for the team but it's definitely a big blow.

Danny is going to get (and legimitely I think) killed for the trade even more than before now that we're down to JO and Krstic as centers.

I don't buy anonymous sources, but honestly, this is kind of common sense.  They guy couldn't do one sprint, there is no way they can count on him at this point.  Frankly, it would be foolish to put any eggs in that basket.

If he comes back, great, but they need to be planning on going forward without him.

Yeah, that seemed a little odd to me too. Waiting for confirmation.

That's because its probably like a ballboy, or something like that, with not real inside information.

But does anyone really believe that the C's would be counting on Shaq to be coming back at this point?  These guys aren't idiots.

Exactly my thought.  If they came to this decision last Saturday I'm sure one of the bigger news outlets would've picked something up by now.

I'll believe it when a credible source states it, and not "someone requesting anonymity" in the Eagle Tribune. Until then, I'm choosing to enjoy what's guaranteed: the fact that we are heading to MSG up 2-0 on the Knicks.
