This was a very smart move. I made a thread earlier pretty angry with how we blew that easy lead at the start, allowing some 16-2 run by the Wizards, but this game was packed full of positives tonight.

Jermaine O'neal was a real beast out there tonight on the blocks front and was able to play serious minutes, and give us meaningful contributions. Jeff Green will likely learn to be more confident and assertive with his offense after tonight. He got a real nice feel of what it feels like to be depended on, as it will surely end up being in the playoffs because we'll need him to be playing well in order for us to go far in the playoffs, and take home a championship.

He needs to keep contributing for us on a consistent basis, long enough for us to get West, and then hopefully Shaq back into our lineup. Man, I really, really hope that Delonte's ankle is fine come Sunday. I also hope Shaq isn't more hurt than what the team is letting on.

If West is even remotely able to walk, albeit with a small bit of discomfort, come day one of the playoffs, he needs to soldier through that messed up ankle, like Kobe did when he got his ankle injury. Delonte with a sprained ankle is still better than no Delonte at all, in my eyes.

I'm pleased with this performance from the team tonight, I honestly am. It's a very hopeful performance. It's about time we stop thinking about who we'll play in the playoffs, and just come to the realization that if we want to win a championship at all, we have to be able to beat any team we play. We just have to beat the Knicks four times before they beat us four times. If we fail to do that, then we simply just weren't the better team, is the way I see it.

It was great to see JO feeling playing some defense.

I Disagree, a smart move by Doc would have been playing Green 35minutes a game every game since the Perkins trade in order to get him comfortable with every thing, and then keep those minutes into the playoffs so that green will be our "JamesPosey"  6th man role

INstead he plays 48 minutes in a meaningless game, and a baffling 10 minutes a game in big games.  Why?  this dude averaged 40 min. for OKC as a starter and he is a lottery pick and the guy is a flat out stud.  What up Doc????????

Wish he could have done the same for for Troy Murphy, i thought there were situations where Murph-Dog was looked over for lesser shots.

We DO need to get Troy Murphy involved more. He's too [dang] good for us not to be taking advantage of his talents.

Any other team would have been utilizing Troy Murphy far better, I'm afraid.

I do believe that Green's minutes certainly need to be upped after last night's performance. I wouldn't mind Baby's minutes being carved back a bit, and giving Green more time to be actively involved in our offense, like he was last night.

Yea hopefully this can get some chemistry among the bench squad and they can produce better come playoffs.  They've been a bit underwhelming lately (as the whole team has I guess).

Players really aren't going to want to come here anymore.. We trade a big piece in Perk for Green, Green barely plays.

Murphy signs here expecting to be a part of this team = barely plays

Arroyo = Barely plays
Pavlovic = Barely plays (and I agree)

I think we'll see a ton of Murphy (and Bradley) on Wednesday. Without Delonte, Avery will get a lot of playing time with Arroyo and Wafer (and Sasha I guess...). Without KG and JO playing, and I'm guessing minimal Baby, we will see a LOT of Murphy and Nenad tomorrow night. We saw what Jeff and JO can do, now let's see what the rest of the bench can contribute.

Next game I'd like to see davis sit as well for a break and honestly for a break from him.   I really don't know why he feels his offense is so important, if davis concentrated on rebounding, defense and letting his shots come with the flow of offense whole team would benefit
black hole

I want to see Jeff play the whole game again

He didn't play very well against an awful team.

But at least he earned some of those millions I guess

I agree, and I really think he has to - without Paul and Jeff, who would play the 3 all game? Wafer will play most of the minutes at the 2, leaving Sasha and Jeff at the 3...that means JG is playing almost the whole game.

Seriously????  Green was a starter in OKC out of neccessity.  The Celtics are a totally different situation.  He was brought here to be a back up to Pierce. If OKC had Pierce Green would have been a back up there too.

This "flat out stud played" 47 minutes as our number one option, with our other options all being secon, third and fourth stringers, against one of the worst teams in the league and scored 20 points on 20 shots. WoW!  Give me more of that!!! ::)

Demanding Green play 35 minutes a game on this Celtics team
may be the most rediculous thing I've read on here since the Gerald Green era.

If Pierce were on the Thunder, Green probably would have still played the same amount of minutes because he was playing out of position there at the 4 - OKC wasn't going to trot Pierce or Durant out there against a power forward. They would've eaten into Harden and Sefolosha's minutes.

I think people weren't impressed with the FG%, but rather his aggressiveness. We know the guy can score, so it's good to see him get comfortable and above all else, be an absolute animal on the boards.
