I know there is a sentiment among some that Boston will be able to just flip the switch in a week...Rondo disagrees:

"It's a pretty different team," said Rajon Rondo, comparing last year's team to now. "It's not the same team. We're not going to be able to turn it on like we did last year. Even last year, we came up short [in Games 6 and 7 of the NBA Finals]. I don't know what we're waiting on, but these type of games we have to find a way to win.

"It's a roller coaster right now, and we went back down today.

except it is pretty much the same team.  Rondo just isn't as good as a lot of celtic fans thought he was and is a major problem with the team.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah

bla bla bla

Our starters need a week off
it's a shame to see them playing these
meaningless games, knowing that no good
can come out of it.
"even keel" is what Rondo says, not too high,
not too low.. just go through the motions
and wait for the buzzer..
these games deserve no more than that.
The Celtics didn't want to show the Bulls
any of their secret plays and moves last night.

I think our offensively unselfish nature as a team can really hurt us at times....especially if players are in a slump or cold.

Can we expect Rondo to "dominate" in the playoffs like he did last playoffs?

Can Ray shoot as effectively in the playoffs as he has all regular season this year?

I think KG's play and health is much better this season than last so we can expect a better KG in this year's playoffs.

Pierce, I have no worries other than the fact that he doesn't get the ball enough, when 1.) we are lacking in offense for whatever reason and 2.) even when he is hot, he doesn't see the ball enough.

Once again, everybody around the NBA knew it has been over for us since the trade deadline fiasco.  This board was the only place people were holding out hope.

We just have no post presence - you can't win in this league like that

As goes Rondo goes the team, and he got destroyed by Rose for the second straight time. It's almost as if he is purposely letting him do what he wants.

Rose is extremely fast and strong for his size, but Rondo is an All-NBA defender. If he can defend LeBron, he can defend Rose.

I will say this: If Rondo stays in front of Rose, Chicago isn't scary at all. Put Shaq in the middle, and we have too much size for them. Boozer is too small for KG and JO. Noah isn't great offensively obviously. Then just stay home on the shooters.

Chicago had a good night. Boston didn't. It was one game. Would have liked to get the W for HCA purposes, but it really doesn't matter all that much.

Apparently our players knew it as well, because that's the only way I can explain why they suddenly decided to stop playing.

sometimes, I swear this board is bi-polar...when the celtics win(spanked the spurs, blew out the 76ers) theyre great, going far....when they lose its "OMG the world is over!"

The celtics played poorly last night. you cant win when Pierce, Ray, KG barely even go into double digits(ray only had 7 points) and rondo doesnt drive to the hoop...its one game. Hopefully they rebound tonight against the wizards...and then whoop the heat on sunday(hopefully with shaq back) the celtics didnt seem focused or giive the effort they aer supposed to

Rondo is right, this is not the same team. He is just trying to lead his team, and basically telling them not to rely on the magic switch come play-off time. The time is now to work on getting it all together. Kudos to Rondo.  Rose played great, and Rondo will have to dig in harder to contain him if we meet them in the play-offs.

Pretty much - it's right in line with KG saying that games came easy for them and now they have to fight for all of them.

Ray storming out of the back after a game not saying anything to anyone.

Now Rondo says they aren't the same team and can't turn it on.

Not a lot to be encouraged by

What I find quite funny is some of you on this page were singing the high praises of this trade and were bashing those who had doubt of any kind.....now.....you're singing a differetn tune...
