except it is pretty much the same team.  Rondo just isn't as good as a lot of celtic fans thought he was and is a major problem with the team.

There are 5 guys here who were on the team last year. How is it almost the same team?

  • Rondo = Good
If Rondo isn't the only one who feels that way on this team . . . woah boy, watch out.  It's gonna be ugly in a couple weeks.

In terms of mentality/toughness, it's not. And that's all about Perkins and the general "ethos". Maybe they'll turn it on the playoffs. I sure hope so.

the bond this team had with Perk was so tight. When he was traded it is like it took the wind out all of these guys...mainly rondo. it isn't about what perk brought to the floor...it is the fact he is a guy they consider a brother is gone..and it has taken a huge toll on this team.

this team plays depressed...and i think it is more mental than anything

Rajon is just being honest about it... Like all of us, he's also depressed... But I believe there is still time for the Cs to adjust and will make a big push in the play-offs...

So, would you prefer that he said that they showed last year they could flip the switch, and they are going to do the same thing this year.

I like that they are, at least verbally, realizing that they have an issue, and not just thinking that the playoffs will magically fix it.

Of course, personally, I do believe that the biggest issue is a subconscious belief that they can turn it on in the playoffs, so I am not overly concerned.  But I also think it is a very good thing is this team recognizes that they need to do more.

It's like saying I prefer being poked in the left eye or the right eye.  Both choices stink.

Where is the other choice?  You know, the one where the Celtics start improving their play now.

Exactly.  All they can do is answer with their play.

And, I am still holding out hope that the focus will completely return once the playoffs start.  I really think they have circled that date in their subconscious, and they just do won't have that extra gear until then.

Question (besides an injured Quis who would not be playing), from the trades, how many of the people were from last season? The answer is 2, KP and Nate... Nate who came last season!! So before the trade it was basically only KP who was here that went through the time with the big 3!! This team wouldn't have been the same as the other season any way you slice it!! You can say it's the trade all you want to but the bench played better than the starters!! How is it that is all of a sudden the new team being the problem when besides KP (he was out and no problem) the starters are the SAME! Now w/o KP they lose, it's because of him, despite running through everyone all year w/o him... makes no since! People talk about what they get paid when it comes to Shaq's health and fitness but now you give the excuse they are missing KP as if they don't get paid to go out and play to the fullest no matter what!! Let's get real, these guys aren't playing to their potential no matter who they trot out there!! They get paid millions, give me a break!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Give credit to the Bulls.  Right now they are the better TEAM.  You can nitpick all you want about the Celts but sometimes you just have tip your cap to the opposition.

Rondo just doesn't have the drive/will to be a good/great player on this level.

Rondo is right, this is not the same team. He is just trying to lead his team, and basically telling them not to rely on the magic switch come play-off time. The time is now to work on getting it all together. Kudos to Rondo.  Rose played great, and Rondo will have to dig in harder to contain him if we meet them in the play-offs.

I like the comment from Rondo - because it's true. This isn't the same team, our chemistry is different now. There's a ton of question marks about our interior defensive presence (a side effect of relying on a 39 year old center). This team - or fanbase - shouldn't rely to heavily on what happened last season. It's fool's gold. With that said, I think we still have a chance. But we need to get our swagger back. When a team is blatantly questioning themselves, how can they expect any other team to fear them?

sometimes, I swear this board is bi-polar...when the celtics win(spanked the spurs, blew out the 76ers) theyre great, going far....when they lose its "OMG the world is over!"

This board is Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde these days.
