We're such a stacked team and Davis can still play 30+ minutes a game.

Why is Doc  so obsessed with Davis?  ???

I want more Green, more JO, even more Murphy.

Probably because Davis has been on the team for years and knows the defensive and offensive system much much better than any of those players listed. And when not looking for his own shot to a ridiculous extent, has proven he can work with the other four starters fairly well.

with the minor calf injurty to shaq, I think Doc's being OVERLY cautions with his centers...JO only got 12minutes last night even though he looked good.

I think once the playoffs start youll see baby have less minutes with Center being split up between Shaq/JO/Kristic

I'd rather see Davis play big minutes than JO play more minutes than his recovery dictates.

Because Doc knows that Davis is the best flopper in the league, obviously ;)

I'd like to see BBD limited to the 20 - 25 minute per game range, as well.  With JO, Krstic, and Green all healthy, that should be doable.

Green is a SF, not a C like Davis is playing.

JO just got back from injury.  They need him for the playoffs.  Working him back slowly is a good idea.

Murphy is out with an injury.

Therefor, the Celtics are left with Davis playing bigger minutes then we would like to see.

The key is that once the playoffs start, he drops back down to the 15-20 minute range.  Long enough to help the team but not so long that other teams can exploit his weaknesses.

They need to reduce BBD's minutes.  He looks gassed.  Plus he tends to be detrimental when it gets to that point.

That would be perfectly acceptable with me.

Well... im not like BBD's number 1 fan or anything, but I think he earned Doc's trust and his minutes 2 seasons ago when he replaced KG in the lineup and averaged like 16 a game during the playoffs.

I just think there is a certain point where BBD hits the wall and its counter-productive to have him out there.  To me, its probably anywhere from 27-30 minutes/game.

agreed and if he is on low post with 4 philly guys around him a forces a shot instead of passing out to an open teammate sit him

looking at the thread title, I thought for sure this discussion was going to be about ditching BBD in the offseason.

In any case, once everyone is healthy and the 12 players suiting up each game is determined, I think BBD will be back to just backing up KG and play effectively in that limited role -- provided Doc pairs him with a rebounding center.

Hopefully, this minutes thing will be alleviated with healthy Jermaine & Shaq in the lineups.

Even minus Shaq, slowly increase Jermaine's minutes as he gets back into "game shape" at the expense of BBD's minutes.
