Offseason: Big Al back in Boston?

"Big" Al Jefferson is not happy in Utah. He is not feeling the Jazz. Additionally, the Jazz are stacked at his position and recently traded for a cheaper, younger and more defensive oriented power forward, D Favors.

Is Big Al on the move?  What would it take to bring him back to Boston?

I would offer JO, Sign and trade BBD, and maybe the LAC 1st (from OKC).

He would replace BBD in the rotation at the PF-C, a definite upgrade (IMO). JO is basically worthless anyway.

Do the Jazz make this trade? Do the Celtics?  Weigh in.

I have mixed emotions about this, and I think Utah will pass because they really don't need another small PF to compete with Jeremy Evans and Paul Milsap for the backup minutes Derrick Favors will ultimately offer (when Favors is starting next year).

But having Big Al at the 4/5..that might extend the window into legitimately next year even if KG or Shaq take some steps back after this season (which at some point, they'll have to).

Would the Jazz really give up Al, whose playing like an all-star center, for JO, Baby, and a pick? At the very least, I think they'd want us to throw in Bradley with that.

If a team is stacked with young athletic bigs, they're not going to go for baby and Jo.

That said I love big al. Great player.

you'd have to give up all our chips to get him....LAC pick, Bradley, Green, etc...but I would do it in a heartbeat.

We do not have the assets to land Jefferson unless we are trading Rondo. That said, I wonder what type of influence KG could have on the defensive abilities and desire to play defense of Big Al.

JO is to balance out the $$.  You have a valid point regarding BBD. Maybe they take Nads, JO, Bradley and LAC 1st and a future BOS #1.

Let's play devil's advocate for a moment.

One can argue that Big Al isn't much of a defensive force and his play seems to have peaked 2 years ago and he has regressed or leveled since.  Yes, I still want him on my team, but those are factors to use to lower his price.

I think he would be great off the bench and I too wonder how KG's influence would effect him.

JO is cap relief. We have a trade exception.  We still need to send them approximately $6mm.
