**OFF DAY CONTEST: Show Me Your Negatives, Negatives**
Show me the most negative tweet or quote you can find today about the Celtics. Go find me rock bottom.

Has to be a legitimate quote too, WITH LINK PROVIDED, to be considered. I'll put up a poll towards the end of the day with the best entries.

Here is mine:

This year looks worse. RT @evilmiamimonkey: @SherrodbCSN Would you say the C's looked worse at the end of last year or this year?

Really don't know how this years looks worse

KG looked a lot worse last year

Rasheed was brutal

We were terrible at home

We have a bunch of new guys integrating right now

We have more injuries this year

We got blown out by the Wizards at home last year come on

Since last year is an unusual occurrence in the NBA, what does history tell us?

Especially since many of the names on the Celtics have changed.
No Perk
No Wallace
No Daniels
No Nate
No TA
No Scali
No Finley
No JR

That's 8 of 15 guys different.  More then half the team.

I am not saying it can not happen.   I hope it does.

But the history part of this is not in the Celtic's favor.

No no but this is this year not last year.

But on a serious note we are better positioned to make a run this year than last year. We've done great against the top teams this year and are what like 7-2 against the Bulls, Heat, and Magic? We have more experience and better coaching than anyone in the East. We are finally getting back 2 of our 7 footers which teams haven't even been able to prepare for much. AND we still have a chance of getting the 1 seed with 10 games left.

Last year we ended up getting passed by the freakin Hawks. We were fighting for that 3rd seed and we couldn't even get that. It's really not as bad as people think.

It happpened once. It is a rare occurence that something like this happens. Yet many seem to believe that it will automatically happen again this year because it did last year.

Last years was a team made up mostly of guys that had been here or had success on other defensive minded championship teams (Wallace and Finley)

This year, they are trying to incorporate a lot more new bodies late in the season who do not have that type of background.

The history you mention was the exception.  I am hopeful that the exception can be repeated.

For some reason, I wasn't worried about our utterly underwhelming regular season performance last year....but the way we've been playing lately has me very worried. It looks like the players are trying this year...but its individual efforts...not collective. Just 9 games to go...and our team is still searching for some answers. Doesn't bode well for a team with championship aspirations...but I cautiously optimistic.

It's odd to hear this. We were 3-7 in our last 10. We got blown out by Washington at home, with a dejected sounding KG and we lost to Chicago (clinging to the 8th seed at the time) the second to last game of the season where it really seemed like we gave it our all.

I don't know how anyone could have felt better about last year. We were so terrible last year. We got overtaken by the Hawks and people thought the best we were going to do was lose in the second round to the Cavs.

Agreed on all accounts, I still remember losing my mind game after game last season. This year I'm relatively unphased, I'm very confident in this team.

Odd for you...but that's how I felt. Yeah, a LOT of people thought we would lose in the second round...and there were many who even thought that we would lose against Miami. I wasn't one of them. Last year, Doc shut them down...it was all about health. I didn't see Doc criticize our team in public last year. He didn't call them selfish.

This year is different....we were clearly trying to get HCA. For some reason, we lost our way this month. Yeah, it might be odd for you to hear this...but that's how I feel.

How did Doc "Shut them down" they didn't play the last game of the season other than I don't think the big 3's numbers are that much up from last year except KG and that was because he physically wasn't right last year. THAT is what was more scary more than anything is that KG was not the same at all.

We weren't trying to get homecourt advantage cause we were so bad we had no shot of getting it. I think we were certainly trying to get the 3 seed though and couldn't manage that as the Hawks squeaked by us.

Doc certainly criticized his team last year. To me what most of the team is saying this year sounds like an exact echo of last year. We just don't have Sheed here constantly being quoted saying "we will play when it counts", "regular season doesn't matter"

Don't you remember those team dinners with the Big 3 last year? Remember KG calling out Sheed in the shower?

Similar problems plagued Boston last year down the stretch as players became bored with the rigors of the regular season. But this is different. Last year, Rivers shut the Celtics down with the hope of getting healthy. This year he’s all in, his squad just isn’t there with him.

Deny it all you want...our problems this year are nothing like what we had last year.

Quote
“We’re just not ready to win right now with the way our approach is to basketball games,” Rivers said. “Right now we’ve become very, very selfish.”

Quote
As he watched his players walk off the court crestfallen, Rivers came to the realization that he has never been as discouraged as he is now during the Big Three era and questions their championship credentials.

“Instead of how the team is playing, everything is about individuals,” Rivers said. “You can see it. A guy struggles, he pouts, he moans. Everything is me, me, me on our team right now. Feeling sorry for themselves instead of giving themselves to the team and playing.”

Quote
It isn’t just the coach who feels this way. After dropping four of their last eight games and falling two games behind Chicago in the Eastern Conference standings, the tension is also reverberating throughout the locker room.

Once a cohesive unit, players are complaining that their teammates aren’t making the extra pass and that too often they become consumed with individual performance, echoing Rivers’ complaints.

Show me one quote from last year where Rivers felt that we couldn't win it all. Last year, it was all about health. Doc stood up for his players...said it numerous times that if healthy his team could make a very strong push for the finals.
