Perkins wasn't even a factor in the team's success this year. He played only 12 games for us and when he played, we went 7-5 over those 12 games. As a starter, he went 4-3 with us.
Stats: 1.9 offensive boards, 6.2 defensive boards, 0.2 steals, 0.8 blocks, 2.1 turnovers and 7.3 points.
I know he brings many intangibles to the chemistry, team defense, and everything but this trade can be justified by those numbers. He did not contribute to the team this year and we are 51-22. Danny Ainge thought he was expendable, thought he reached his career plateau and made this trade. I don't understand why people think that the current slide we are on is attributed solely to Perkins. The only blame you can pin on DA is doing the trade too late in the season but that was a risk he was willing to take. Guess he thought the team would jell quicker. We still have another month of basketball left. Let's not jump into the Charles River anytime soon.
