However, I would say that if the team was so mentally fragile that losing Perk would put them in this kind of a funk, they didn't have what it takes to fight their way through 4 post-season series anyway.

I've heard the word "fragile" used a few times here. I guess I don't really see it that way. Sure, part of it could still be the "mental hangover", but I think its possible we are still underestimating the 'on court' impact and adjustment. On defense, Perk was an anchor. Now you have Nenad, who is not only trying to learn our system, but obviously does not provide the same physical presence as Perk. And as the saying goes, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Well when your '5' is not properly "plugged in", you have to expect a significant drop.
On offense, while many have pointed to Perk's scoring deficiencies, there were other ways which Perk made large contributions. Setting monster picks to free up our shooters is one example. You would regularly hear national broadcasters like Van Gundy talk about what an underrated part of Perk's game that was.
I guess while I agree with the sentiment that you would hope they would get past the mental/psychological aspect of losing Perk a bit faster/more professionally, I believe a larger part is what was lost from an 'on the court' perspective.
