Like I said earlier though... there's nothing that can really be done about it.

I don't disagree with that, but I do disagree with the notion that the blog is somehow 'broken' and unfix-able. I just find that whole notion distasteful. Now, some posters might not feel 'a part' of some aspects of the blog, but I don't think that means the blog is broken, because we've got a pretty solid history of welcoming in new people. We were all new at some point (aside from Po, or Jeff), and we all found a niche here.

People who stick around won't feel left out for very long..people who come in the door and wonder why everyone doesn't already know their name..I just don't understand how to make those people happy.

I agree... broken was the wrong term.

It's just one small problem... nothing major.

TP to anybody clever enough to solve the Gordian Knot of what everyone agrees is either a non-existent or unfixable problem.

0.083 posts per day aren't going to get a lot of responses. We only deal in whole numbers here. ;)

But seriously, how did the mods get involved in all this? How are they to blame if someone's posts don't get a response? Or how is anybody else to blame if you don't get a response to your post? You make a post to give your point of view/opinion/idea...not to see how many people respond to you.

When I browse, I usually just look at the posters well post and not the name attached to it. However, if someone has a signature or an avatar I will familiarize myself with those posters much faster than those who don't. Over time, that familiarity may cause me to pay more attention (or sometimes less attention...) to those people.

So, what would you like to see happen?
Nothing.  It would be nice if the low-posting underclass didn't exist, but there is no realistic way of changing the status quo.  I think that this is the natural order of things, and I've accepted it for what it is.  Specialized forums are almost always like this.

I just thought it worth pointing out that for all of the interest generated in this topic, we more or less treaded water for 15 pages.

Low post does not mean "underclass".  It means "under exposed to the masses".

There have been many "low post" members that made big impressions.  Chances are, they said something further from the center of beliefs on a topic then towards the center.

There is little more we can do to welcome all the members that join.  We start a welcome thread for everyone.  If someone says "hello, I'm new"; there are many here who respond and welcome them.

Anything more is really tough on this site.

Did you know that there are over 8000 forum members?

Did you know that for March, there are already 154 new members?

Those are huge numbers.

Question: if one of the Tuff Guys expresses concern with his rate of Toughness Points, and a mod comes along to boost those points up, will the Earth stop spinning?

Really depends on the angular momentum.

Only if you spell our name without a 'z' like a total square.

Does a fart in church stop gravity? Because that's about how the whole 'TP-Boost' think turned out.. ;D

I am kind of finding this the funniest thread ever.  Right now I'm going around experimenting to see how many threads have been started by high or low volume posters that got low responses.

I might hold the record for most threads with low responses.  I blame.......myself.  And the world for not giving me a Pulitzer every time I open a door.

No.

But if there is enough pressure it could over come gravity for a short period of time.
