I can live with his jumper. Improving it will ultimately help the team and his career. Also, he takes the shots that the offense and defense dictates. I'm sure if Doc did not want him to take those jumpers, the plays would be drawn up differently. Sure, he could drive vs shoot, but he is also a role player, not a star.
My biggest gripe about Davis is his superhuman ability not to pass. As soon as he touches the ball, the other four Celtics might as well get back on defense, as he will not be passing it out. There was one play this season where he passed it to a cutting KG for the score and it was great. The fact that I vividly remember this is an indicator of how rarely he passes.
Is there a way (Synergy, usage rate, etc.) to figure out how many times he touches, passes and shoots per game?
While I'm complaining, I also think that he should not have taken the 3 last night, given that there were some slightly better 3pt shooters on the floor. But that also could partly be placed on Rondo (or even Ray and Paul for not getting open).
