JG with the Celts: 23mpg/11.2ppg/51% FG/38% 3FG, 1.2 3apg

with OC: 37mpg/15.2ppg/44% FG/30% 3FG, 3.8 3apg

His rebounding/assists are down but that isn't his job. He's getting the easy transition baskets and posting up. He's only shooting the 3 when he is wide open.

Well, he is going to be seeing minutes at the 4 if we don't get the O'Neal's back...which means that is going to be a major part of his job

Even at the three, I'm not sure that it's an excuse to say that it's not somebody's job to rebound.  Every player on the court is asked to secure defensive rebounds, and Green has been very poor in that regard.

It's a weakness.  It doesn't need to be overblown to overshadow the good things Green is contributing, but it's also something that shouldn't just be explained away like "he's not asked to rebound".

I believe Pierce rebounds very well from the 3 spot. If I'm not mistaken Ray had 8 rebounds last night and he plays the 2. We've even seen Rondo get double diget rebounds on more than one occation. I could be wrong but I belive it's everyones job to rebound.

I am not concerned about Jeff Green's rebounding. He has done a good job on the boards whilst at the small forward position in the past.

Give it time and his rebounding will surely come around.

Uh, original poster, what the heck are you talking about??

Bosh is a MUCH better post player, actually an elite post player, and you somehow think Jeff Green is better?

Your post is indefensible by any measure. Take off your green goggles

I don't think Bosh is a elite post player. he's good, but you can't be an elite post player and struggle as much as he does when anyone physical defends you.

Bosh is a above average player. That's all.

That being said, he's a far better post up player as a 4 than green. When green gets a mismatch when he's playing the 3 though, he's pretty darn good.

Yeah. A more appropriate answer would be that the team rebounding is good with him in. No single player necessarily needs to get a rebound so long as the team does.

The truth is rebounds are for a large part stolen from teammates. It is often just as important to keep your man away as it is to go for the rebound.

How does anybody know what Jermaine's post game is like?  Is going to be like if he graces us with his presence?  He's shown up for what?  15 games or so?

today I noticed that he's got a big butt

LOL.

So funny.  TP.

Problem is everything else is just as out of shape on him.

We're getting Shaq back, i don't know why people keep doubting this...

In Boston Jeff Green is a small forward who runs the floor, post up smaller defenders, and get to the FT line.

When Jeff comes in at the 4 he can take slower defenders off the dribble, while still having the strength to guard opposing power forwards. I like him at the 4 but love him at the 3... i feel like it's a waste of his Havlicek-esque floor running ability when he's playing as a big.

You know this is a Jeff Green topic, not a Jermaine one, right?

Anyway, Green showed some good post presence last night, but let's not get crazy, those moves will get a whole lot tougher against a good physical playoff opponent.

Bosh an elite post player? Can i have some of what youre smoking? Bosh is primarily a jump shooter. mainly the reason he has been called soft all year and the heat have been called out for having no post presence is the fact that Bosh lacks the post play they need.

To jump on this 75% of Bosh's shots are jump shots.

Tp's to the last two posters, Bosh is a good player but not a Low post guy.

Jeff green in the low post against another SF is a mismatch, and if you put your PF on him then we throw it into Kevin.

He's a better high post player, where he can use his face up game.

Bosh has a devasting first step when he has the chance to use it.

Yeah also looking at his butt he could tighten it up a bit more

You can't have your cake and eat it too. Everyone loves Green running the floor with Rondo, but you want to complain about him not crashing the defensive boards with the other big(s)? He can't do both, and considering he may be our best breakaway player and weakest rebounding "big," I prefer him doing what he has been doing, running.
