When Rondo goes, the celtics go!

If ever that statement needed backing up. His hustle tonight was incredible.

Paul Pierce didn't play for 3 quarters and then he just smoked Anthony and then Fields. Welcome to the league son! This is how we do it in Boston. BOOM!

  • GOT IT!!!
I think this game will get the guys back on track. Pierce and Rondo got some funk back tonight.

  • It's not hard to work hard.
I'll own up to being doubtful at halftime, but they really got their act together in the 3rd and crushed the Knicks in the 4th.

Also, no composure from the Knicks at all.  Their offense turned to garbage, Melo and Amare pouting like crazy (exactly what does Amare need to do to get a tech?), and Billups jacking crazy threes. Not impressive from the little bockers.

Well, that proves it.

Celtics have an on and off switch that they press during the game.

They played CELTICS basketball in the 4th quarter but stunk it up for the first three.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
Rondo played well tonight with the exception for a few bad shots. He's finally utilizing the one of the best assets of his game: penetrating.
yeah, the shots were only bad cause they didn't go in. He took two threes tonight (one for sure to beat the clock), but if you take those out he shot 50% tonight. The shots we weren't crazy about made sense at the time because nobody was moving on offense. they were just standing around...

YES.  What a game!  All hustle in the 4th quarter and I LOVED seeing Pierce get in that zone, especially after he hit the 3 and was right up Carmelo's face with his defense.  The captain brought us back here in the 4th.

All the credit goes to the Celtics but I've got to give the Knicks props for making this game.  Billups was just brutal tonight from 3 pt land.

This probably will be a huge subject for tomorrow here at the forums, Rondo's shooting.  But tonight I'm going to enjoy this win.  8)

they cut it to 6 by the end of the third..they played lousy in the first half but manned up and took the game over in the second

Agreed, they did lose their composure.  They basically watched the Cs steal the game from them the last 3 minutes.  Its as if Melo hit the floor with a bloody eye, there wasn't a foul called, and the Knicks just couldn't believe it. It totally deflated them.
Celtics fan for life.

i must say though (i'm gettin the Knicks feed), their commentators are pretty good. thank you to the Knicks fans for waking Paul Pierce up. it was that free throw trip that really got him started. when he was stretching out his shoulder and they all started chanting "Paul Pierce Sucks"

agreed. they have the most fair commentators in the league. Portland and Phoenix are the worst, imo.

Could not avoid dropping by to take my bows. Called that one, didn't I?

Big ups to the Ticket, who shut Amare down with an assist from Davis. The anchor inside of this team's defense has always been Garnett, and he was huge in the second half.

Big ups to Pierce, who took the game over offensively in the key spots. And Rondo showed some flashes of his old self in the second half amidst some of the most head-scratching play possible. I hope to live long enough to see him take the basketball to the defense and break it down instead of launching a 15-footer he isn't going to make.

As I said at the half, move the ball, play defense with your feet and this thing will turn around. It did.

Now, let's build off a simple formula going forward.

Recall coach Zen saying how the celtcis cant close out in the 4th?  After these last two games, maybe he should put that in his peace pipe  and smoke it.
