We've played poorly in eight out of our last nine games.

That's serious cause for concern

I see both sides of the coin.

As long as we are healthy going in to the playoffs I will take that over anything else.

But having said that...we should not be losing some of these games we recently lost because the team we do have out on the floor...is far better then the Nets and Clippers (didnt mind that Philly loss on the road they are playing well).

As long as we win. 6 out of the 9 remaining games in this month and are completely healthy going in to April. I will be very very happy, I wont over-react unless that doesn't happen.

Haha (TP)...that guy will be sitting with Avery, DWill, and Lopez in their boat - Fishing - in April.

Upset from the loss, but in the grand scheme of things Boston will recover.

I am sorry but I will add this here too.  For the rest of this month the Celtics have the toughest schedule (by taking history of the current season in to account) of the 3 teams in the East battling for the no 1 seed.

So I would really get ready for the over-reacting...If both Chicago and Miami have 3-4 game leads going in to April.

On the other hand, this Cs team is known for "playing down" to opponents and getting up for big games.

I could see the Cs playing very well over the next few games.

Yeah see that is what I am kinda worried about.  All 3 teams have some scrubs on the schedule for the rest of this month Chicago having the most.  But Celts have the scrubs and Knicks, Grizz, Hornets, Spurs.

It could get ugly on this message board real quick before the month is over.

It could get ugly?! Man, it already is every time we lose a game.

And that was when we were the 1 seed and Miami was playing bad...so imagine

It's still not as bad as last year. I'd generally try and stay away from the board after a bad loss as it gave the hand wringers time to run out of steam.

Sounds like a good strategy.

People are just upset that the Celtics are falling apart down the stretch at the worst time.

HCA is at stake. Everyone knows we arent winning the title without HCA over the Lakers. We can win the east without HCA because we are clearly the best team when healthy, but the road will be harder and many are afraid we wont have enough gas to also dethrone LA on the road in the finals.

Although HCA will be nice, its not something that will decide the fate of our championship run. All it takes is one victory on the road to neutralize the opponent's HCA. Health is the only critical factor that can hamper our chances. Nothing else.

It would be foolish to believe that Rondo is not going to snap out of this slump sooner or later. He is too good and too talented to go through a prolonged slump of this kind. I suspect we'll find out later that he had been playing with an injury.
I've seen this posted a couple times already and want to point out that it is a huge fallacy.  Sure, we win one game on the road and we regain HCA; that part is correct.  But people always leave out the second part of this equation which is the fact that we have to win ALL of our home games for it to matter.

In case people have forgotten, we DID win one road game last year in the finals yet still lost the series.  Why?  Because we also lost a home game, that's why!

Of course, anything is possible.  But put in as someone that thinks we won't beat the lakers (assuming we get that far) without HCA.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
You ever seen a kid who was throwing a temper tantrum because they lost a toy, or they got sent to timeout, or their star point guard is under performing?

You don't tell them to calm down 5 mins after they get upset. You leave them alone and let them work out the ya-yas and you tell them they're stupid and will ultimately amount to nothing when they're tired and worn out.

But we don't *really* tell then they're stupid, right Mr. global moderator? wink wink, nudge nudge.

I'd never calla CB forum member stupid, I meant the kids. You call teh kids stupid, especially if they're not yours.
