The loss was bad, but lets not act like its the end of the world/season and the celtics are conceding homecourt...The Celtics have been losing back to backs all season against lower tier teams.

Right now, everyone is being no different than the commentators on ESPN whom declare teams such as the heat/lakers over once they hit a losing strea, only to fawn all over them after they win a couple games...

Rondo is just going through a slump, every player does. Look at ray last year. im sure once the playoffs come, Rondo will be back to the 10pts, 12assists that he was averaging earlier in the year..Pierce didnt play very well tonight either..but im not hearing anything about that..

I expect that a well rested celtics squad(and with some reinforcements returning in West back) will defeat the pacers on wednesday

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
You ever seen a kid who was throwing a temper tantrum because they lost a toy, or they got sent to timeout, or their star point guard is under performing?

You don't tell them to calm down 5 mins after they get upset. You leave them alone and let them work out the ya-yas and you tell them they're stupid and will ultimately amount to nothing when they're tired and worn out.

At least that's what I do with my fiance's nephews. Its not like its a science or anything. I recommend X-Box for the next 6 hours. That ought to work.

People are just upset that the Celtics are falling apart down the stretch at the worst time.

HCA is at stake. Everyone knows we arent winning the title without HCA over the Lakers. We can win the east without HCA because we are clearly the best team when healthy, but the road will be harder and many are afraid we wont have enough gas to also dethrone LA on the road in the finals.

Although HCA will be nice, its not something that will decide the fate of our championship run. All it takes is one victory on the road to neutralize the opponent's HCA. Health is the only critical factor that can hamper our chances. Nothing else.

It would be foolish to believe that Rondo is not going to snap out of this slump sooner or later. He is too good and too talented to go through a prolonged slump of this kind. I suspect we'll find out later that he had been playing with an injury.

Bynum is getting more healthy all the time. So we dump Perk. We're in some pretty *hit now. Without a HEALTHY set of O'Neals we don't have a snowballs  chance against LA or anybody else where we need tuff defensive center play inside.

If Delonte and both O'Neals were healthy and we had no injuries everyone would be more confident.

Our season is riding on the O'neals. Garnett/Oneal/Oneal is a solid front court that can match up perfectly with the Lakers.

We need to see that on the court so we as fans have confidence in this team going forward.

The season is riding on a bunch of injured bodies right now and question marks.

We wont know for sure what the ceiling is for this team until the first round of the playoffs when everyone is supposed to be healthy.

i am not over reacting, and i love Rondo. but its clear to everyone that he is not playing well lately. so why wouldn't Doc give a very solid Arroyo more than 17 minutes vs. a struggling Rondo's 32.

17 more games to go. I don't think the Celts will hit their stride till playoff time. Everyone can figure out the reasons. No sense beating them to death. We'll coast out at 500 ball like it or not. Maybe send some teams like Chicago and Indy a message but we're not going to compete for #1 seed in the East and risk it all. We just can't push a veteran team like this without breaking it. Doc is still playing the starters too much.  He's asking for trouble. One injury now and it's over. This season has been built on 2 wobbly centers and a very unstable point guard. All three have played up to billing.........injured..of course Shaq isn't injured all this time. Just waiting for what they bought him for. The playoffs.

But we don't *really* tell then they're stupid, right Mr. global moderator? wink wink, nudge nudge.

Bloggers practically dancing with glee when Celts play poorly is not a pretty sight.

The names are different but the reality is no different from the past few years.  We are an old team.  Period.  That's always going to be a liability in a long season.

Also, I'm not worried about the ceiling for this team.  I'm more worried about the floor!
Celtics fan for life.

But I think it's a lot more important in the finals where they have that dumb 2-3-2 format.  Sure, we can take one of the first two but then in order to maintain the HCA we have to win three more in a row.  That's hard to do against any team that's good enough to make it to the finals.
