Jordan is Griffin's best friend on the Clippers.  I think there is no way they don't re-sign him to make Blake happy.  On the other hand, Kaman will probably be available in trades.

Sterling doesn't do things to make players happy, he make decisions based on the net value to his pocketbook -- plain and simple.

In fact, there are not many teams you'd rather have hold the RFA card than the Clips. They're not likely to stretch far to keep a guy if they find the economics questionable. Then again, Danny's not exactly the RFA offer type.

The C's have no cap space this summer.  And there is no way they don't match an MLE type offer for this kid, given the price of quality big men.

The C's only chance would be if Jordan takes the qualifying offer this summer, and then becomes a UFA in 2012, when the C's could be looking at a decent amount of cap space, depending on the new CBA, and what they do with some other guys.

Actually, the more I think about it, I suppose that is a realistic option.  If no one wants to blow Jordan away this summer, and Sterling low balls him, perhaps he would opt for playing out the year, and then hitting the market in 2012.  If the C's miss out on Howard (which is of course, more likely than not), throwing some money at Jordan would not be a terrible back up plan.

How much do people think DeAndre Jordan is worth? Contract wise, this summer.

I was thinking he is only worth MLE type money. Maybe a little more if you are paying for potential.

That's what I think too.  But I don't think the MLE will be enough to pursuade the Clippers to let him walk.

Wow, a lot of love for Jordan here. An interesting prospect, but the guy has no game outside of the painted area.

He's averaging 7 and 7 on the season. I'd give him the MLE. Not sure how much higher I'd be willing to go.

I agree with Lucky here. Jordan is a decent prospect, but one good game against a totally disorganized celtics defense without Shaq does not qualify him for a large contract.

Partially agreed, but he is young. At the same time, how many good centers are there that are available? He's going to command a lot of money this summer. Knicks and Heat are no doubt salivating to sign him, as well as a bunch of other teams. Not certain even the Clips can afford to match him with how much he might get on the market.

I believe the Heat and Knicks can only offer the MLE under the current CBA however things could change if we end up with more of a hard cap and make it harder for them to aquire talent.  I don't think many teams will have more than their MLE this summer to use on free agents so I would probably guess he returns to the Clips next season.

Positioning cap space in 2012 as we now are for possibly  Jordan and another solid young free agent is not a bad idea at all.

Hes shooting 44% on FTs this year and 40% for his career. Ouch.
