So was Giddens at #30 worse than Gerald Green at #18?  Maybe a little, but you really expect something at 18.

The only thing is that at the time, Green was considered a steal at 18.  Alot of people had giddens ranked as a mid second rounder
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

During the first quarter before Jordan started getting all his dunks Mike Gorman mentioned that the C's really like Jordan as a player. I am assuming he has heard this from Danny. It makes a lot of sense, Jordan would be a great fit with Rondo.

Jordan has tons of potential IMO. The guy is a Tyson Chandler in the making. On hoopsworld it says that he is an UFA after this year, but how much do you think teams will offer him?

I have to believe he will get a Perk type contract. I would gladly offer him the full MLE if he would take it , but he can probably get a bit more. To bad because a Rondo, Green, Jordan core would be really fun to watch.

I'd like a Rondo-Green-Jordan core, too.

DeAndre seems to play even bigger than his 6'11" frame, too....really nice young talent.

I could certainly live with him if we can't get Dwight.

This summer, if Semih can be 100% healthy and willing to play in the NBA, I would try to send back the pick to Cleveland to get him. Cleveland still wins the trade, by getting Gody, and I think Semih will be a good backup C in the regular season.

I don't think that is likely.  Cleveland wanted Semih Erden.  Reportedly, they wanted Erden as part of a deal for Anthony Parker (which makes it weird that Erden eventually went to Cleveland for a draft pick).

Doc actually talked about Jordan on the radio this morning.  Said it was refreshing to see a young guy who loves to play defense and doesn't care about his offense.

On another note,  I was completely wrong about this guy.  Even up through last year (and until I saw him against the C's a couple weeks ago), I thought he was a dog.  But, he has come a long way since last year, and has become a real good NBA player.

Unfortunately, I would be shocked if the Clippers let him go.

Yeah I wanted him too, that's the ticket. PLEASE, first off, I never heard of him before and second how many other teams passed on him?
SO many Monday morning quarterbacks.

True, and supposedly Green was so not expected to be there that Danny hadn't done his homework on him, whereas in reaching for JR, he presumably had.

Jordan is Griffin's best friend on the Clippers.  I think there is no way they don't re-sign him to make Blake happy.  On the other hand, Kaman will probably be available in trades.

Actually, what he said was that the Celtics LIKED Jordan. I assume he was referring to the time he came out of college.

That's an interpretation, not a fact. I heard what the OP heard -- they like the guy. Why not? He's a monster. And with better coaching, plenty of room to improve.

Meanwhile, we've been lamenting the Giddens pick for too long here (Jordan, Mbah a Moute, etc). It needs to be let go. Jordan wouldn't have played as much in green anyway. Just sign the guy as a FA.

Sterling doesn't do things to make players happy, he make decisions based on the net value to his pocketbook -- plain and simple.

In fact, there are not many teams you'd rather have hold the RFA card than the Clips. They're not likely to stretch far to keep a guy if they find the economics questionable. Then again, Danny's not exactly the RFA offer type.

as good as DA has been in evaluating talent, there are also hits and misses, it happens even to the best of em...but its always gonna happen in each draft...I too can't help but gush as to the development of this kid. He sure did make Garnett look old out there.

Where on earth is Giddens by the way  ???

To be fair to Ainge, I believe he was trying to get out of a promise to Giddens to pick Jordan, talking with Giddens agent about buying another pick to draft Giddens later. Apparently the Giddens camp said "no." Am I remembering this right?

yes but Blake Griffin is value to his pocketbook.

Word was BG liked playing with Baron Davis too, but the pocketbook won out. I'd agree he's more likely to pay Jordan, but my point: this isn't Mark Cuban we're talking about.

How much do people think DeAndre Jordan is worth? Contract wise, this summer.

I was thinking he is only worth MLE type money. Maybe a little more if you are paying for potential.
